My son left for boot camp Oct. 3rd. This is all very new for me. I am praying for him every day and I look forward to graduation when my husband and I can see him. I am proud of him and proud of our military.

You have a right to be proud.  You may want to join New Moms Stop Here and check out the Pages and Discussions there.  Once you know your SR’s PIR date, go to GROUPS: Listed By PIR Date - Pass In Review (Boot Camp Graduation) and click on the date and join the group for that.  Two other groups you may wish to check out are Boot Camp Mom's and PIR Reference Information

Thank you so much for the info. I have sort of been lost on this site so this helps narrow it down for me.
I'm glad I could help. If you have questions, ask in one of the groups or feel free to go to my My Page and ask in a comment on my Comment Wall. The site seems to have originally been set up as a social network site and has morphed into that and much more, but it sometimes makes finding what you want interesting.  Learn to use the Search box at the top once you've gone to the Forums or Groups tabs, but don't resurrect Discussions from more than a few months ago.
Navy For Moms didn't exist when my son joined. Navy4Moms was formed originally to let moms connects with each other for support. It turns out that there exist a thirst for knowledge about the Navy and the journey that our sons/daughters are going through. As people started asking questions, and responses are posted we realized that this site is not really organized to disseminate information. Some of us have been trying hard to get some things organized in a fashion that is useful. We have a strong group of experienced moms taking new members through the Boot Camp through PIR process (you'll meet them in your PIR group). In the meantime, in the New Moms Stop Here group, one of us will stop by on a daily basis if you have questions. Or we'll be looking around here searching out newbies. Haha. You'll be OK. Take it one day at a time.
Thanks, that's all we can do. I want to try and see if I can view a you tube video of my son's DIV but I'm not sure how to do that?

You may be able to see a photo of his Division on Facebook if someone wins a photo in one of the contests on Tuesday or Wednesday, but there are not usually YouTube videos except for those posted after PIR.  Here is the RTC's Facebook page (clickable link).

I understand how you are feeling. Our son arrived at bootcamp October 7th.  We are still waiting for our box and information. We too are proud of our military and our son!  I pray several times a day and catch my self shedding tears when I am by myself as I am writing letters to him just waiting on his address.

We got our box about the first week. It probably depends on the distance it has to travel. I wasn't able to open it. I put it in his room. I understand how you feel. Keep praying I know it comforts me to pray for my son.

You probably know your SR’s PIR date by now, so go to GROUPS: Listed By PIR Date - Pass In Review (Boot Camp Graduation) and click on the date and join the group for that to connect with others with loved ones who are training with your SR.  I also suggest you join New Members Stop Here and check out the Pages and Discussions there.  Two other groups you may wish to check out are Boot Camp Mom's and PIR Reference Information.  (Each of the underlined group names are clickable links.)

JAE1958, this is an awesome journey not only for your child but for the entire family. You are going to love graduation. My son graduated last year and I will remember his graduation for the rest of my life. My husband I stayed at the Naval Lodge. Our children are wonderful and they are the ones who allow us the freedom that we know as Americans. Thank you and your husband for giving us the gift of your child serving our country.
