Does anybody have a son/daughter that went in to boot camp on May 11, 2010? I am missing my son so much and wondering if anyone has advice on how to get through the 8 weeks of waiting for Graduation. He is in Div.234.

My son left on May 20th I need to put in for vacation days for graduation. My manager makes the our schedule 6 weeks at a time and I need to submit my request by Thursday. Help please?
Yes please you can add me as a friend. And I'll always be here if you need me. Because when my son first left I felt like I was going to go into some kind of panic attack trust me....lol but you are not alone in this. So keep your head up. And put him in Gods hands and you will be at graduation in no time. God Bless
hello angelaJ.C., my name is charlotte from ocala,fl. our daughter left for bootcamp on may25th and we have not heard from her or received a letter yet. I feel a little better reading the comments you've written .I am so glad that I got connected with the site. I do pray and truly believe in GOD but I still do miss my babygirl.I'm also glad that it will soon be over (bootcamp) and I will be able to see her! thanks and I will be talking to you again.
jdmom65,
So what are you asking? Do you want to know how many days or what days? I'm asking so I can give you the right answer.
I really want to know what day? Its time for us to ask for any vacation time up to July 18th, and I only have until thursday to give my boss the information. I will call his recruiter in the morning to find out if he know what division JD is in. If you have any information that can help, i appreciate it.
Thank Angela, and is graduation usually on a Thursday?
Oh my goodness I just re-read your post. Your son just left. If I'm adding it up right you should be getting a letter from him anyday now. Letting you know what Div he's in and when graduation. So be looking for a letter from him. Have you gotten his things yet? They will send you his clothes he wore. And you will get a letter letting you know whats going on. And at the end he will have a 3 line letter for you at the end of the introduction.
Oh and I think graduation is normally on Friday. But you have so many things to look for. He just might be a grab and go. Where time he graduates he has to go straight to his next post. And you just have to meet up with him there. And hope that he gets liberty. So tell him to do good. So he will get a chance to visit you. Just a few things to look for when going to his graduation.
Thanks for being so informative, you are such a blessing. I received his box today. I was upset because they sent everything home, even his watch. We read the Depper book and it told us what could and could not be bought with you. So we picked him up small address book, deodorant, writing pens, razor (not electronic) and a new watch.
I will get over it, I was just disappointed, because these were listed as items to bring, and I'm working part-time right now, but I went out of my way to make sure he had what I thought he needed.

OK Thanks for letting me vent, I'm over it. ---It really is an emothional roller coaster. How can I make you a friend?
jdmom65,
I truly feel what your feeling. And that roller coaster has only just begun. And you will be getting on that ride over and over again. But this time you will have a friend to ride with you all the way. And that friend is me. I'm always here if you need me. And with God by our side it will be a ride to remember. God Bless you and your family.
ANGELA :)
Hello, proudmom, my daughter graduated BC 4/23/10 and it is a long 9 weeks but try and keep busy. You will get a few phone calls and when they can write they will and they only can send letters on certain days of the week. we usually got letters on Thursdays. Try and keep your letters upbeat and full of encouragement, they miss you as much as you miss them! Being on this site and communicating with other Moms really helps especially at the end of BC. Good luck to you and your recruit and God Bless!
my daughter has been in the navy two years, but i remember boot camp all too well. my best advice is this .... allow yourself those RMM'S (random mom moments). you will go through changes, and worry all the time. it is ok, and it is normal. write your child constantly. mail is their main tie to home and family. be encouraging always. he doesn't need to worry about you worrying about him! and most importantly, expect the unexpected. your son may graduate on time, and he may not. in any case, all the support you need is here. if you have any questions, feel free to call on me!
