Hi Mom's

My son is scheduled  for PIR on 2/4/11 an assigned to ship 11 div 061. I could not find any groups for moms who's sons are assigned to ship 11 div 61. Sooo I am hoping we could get together here and compare notes from our sons.  I dont know much about this division, I have read from other moms that certain divisions mean certain things.  Well I hope to hear from you guys :)

Potsie lee- Gosh, I hope it is getting better by now!  What is wrong with the ones who won't cooperate?  You would think they would want it easier on themselves and everyone else.  Always has to be a few no matter what.  I was hoping for another letter today, but nope.  He did say in his one and only letter we rec'd that he would "keep them coming".  Hopefully he meant it.  My hubby and I have been sending one every other day.  We take turns.  I hate the thoughts of him not getting a letter on the days they do.  He told us when he called that Tues. and Thurs. were their mail days.  Maybe one will be in our mail box tomorrow!!  I finally had a really good night sleep last night.  It's been a while.  So anxious to see my son graduate!!  Can't wait till he's in Charleston for A school.  Only 5 hours away from us.  He'll be there for 18 months.  My sister also lives there so we can stay with her when we visit him.

well ladies it seems as though we are ON OUR WAY. To think that 4 weeks ago we were on here so nervous and uncertain.

It seems like our boys are doing well and have fallen into a routine.

Have any of your sons mentioned the RDC's? My son said they were kind of cool after you get to know them.

I also read a post on our PIR board that an SR had mentioned to their mom about the RDC's are going to start punishing to trouble- makers individually. Thank God. That was what was affecting my son the most. Not just physically (with all the extra PT) but also mentally.

I hope to meet some/all of you ladies at the M&G. I just moved my reservations to the Ramada, thought it would be easier (and cheaper lol).

My son said that he really liked the RDC in this division.  Said he's a really cool guy.  She said he's a big mini-me from Austin Powers.  LOL!

I was out checking the stores but couldn't find any yellow scarves.  I'm hoping that the spring stuff will be coming out soon and I will find one before February.

Yay, I'm at the Ramada.  Seems like it's a nice place.  Haven't heard anything bad about it any way.

Four weeks already.  That means they are half way done!!  Yipee!

Maybe we will get a phone call one of these days.  I can't wait to ask him about the "guys" in 061.  ;o)

I found a yellow scarf today, that was harder than I thought lol. I found it at TJ Maxx, can't wait to see all of you ladies at graudation :)

oh goo:) Im going shopping tomorrow. I might even get a pair of gloves too, lol

Cant wait to meet everyone either.

ooh boy  I didnt check in yesterday and seemed to have missed a bunch of stuff. First  what is going on with the yellow scarfs. I missed that discussion.   I recieved a letter from my son today and he to said that  there are a few boys that are not conforming. He said its not that they are having a tuff time getting it  he feels they just dont care and dont take it seriously. He said they keep having to go through intense training becasue of these few. he is hoping htey just send them home becasue these particular kids really dont care and is bringing the whole division down.   Although he said it is bringing the rest of the division closer together. He to passed inspections and bunk inspection. He said they were going to the range next week which he is excited about.  He went on to say that it was mostly academics and the funny thing was he spelled academics wrong. I thought to myself, whoaaa you need academics...lol....... It was a relief to hear him say that time was flying by.  I was glad that he felt that way....He mentioned that phone calls are earned so there division is lacking cuz of the two knuckleheads......Oh Well...If someone could fill me in on the scarf and ribbon idea I would greatly appreciate it.........Almost there girls

Kelly-- I heard some moms saying that their sons divisions were having trouble also, and that they are going to start punishing the troublemakers individually now, i hope thats true with our sons div.

As far as the scarfs, each division is wearing a different color to honor their recruits, and the color for our division is yellow. The shade of yellow isnt important, just whatever you prefer for your own personal taste.

This way our sons will be able to spot us easy, should they be able to 'look up'. Make sure you write you son and tell him. Also if any family members are coming with you to PIR, they can wear the color also:))

Hi my name is Yvette, My son has also be assigned to ship 11 div061. His PIR on 2/4/11. Just wanted to hear from others with a child there. I have talk to angie. and i know that our boys are freinds, which is great. It feels good not to be alone.

I pray to hear from him soon. I pray we all get a letter soon :)

Hi Yvette-- Nice to hear from you. Our div. keeps growing and i think we might have one of the biggest groups on here:)

As you can read in the other posts, everyone from this division is going to be wearing a yellow colored scarf to PIR in honor of our sons' division. Just a small gesture to let them know how much we care/love them.:))

We   ask that you write your son to let him know which color we will be wearing and also to inform any friends/relatives that may be coming with you to PIR. to wear something yellow (if they want to, of course. This is not mandatory by any means). Hope to talk some more.

I hope you hear from him soon.:))

We rec'd 2 letters yesterday!  I must of looked like a nut at the mailbox jumping up and down!!  LOL!  Huge smile on my face and laughing.  It was just so exciting to open the mailbox door and see his letters right on top!  They were small 1 page letters, but I read them over and over.  He wrote the first one on Christmas Eve and said that morale was really high.  They were all singing Navy marching songs.  Time is flying by for him.  Most of the letter was to his brother.  Who is 18 and going to MEPS in January.  He told him to start doing the exercises now to get into shape.  He also told him that he thought every one should have to do this right out of high school because it prepares you for the "real" world.  Next letter was written on the 26th.  Said Christmas was a great day.  He loved the meal they had.  He stood his first watch that night and was very nervous.  But, he said he did great!  My little boy is growing up!!!  I'm so proud of him.  Can't wait to see him on the 4th.  We'll be celebrating his b-day while there.  It's on the 11th.  I hope everyone gets calls this weekend.  Happy New Year ladies!!!  It's gonna be a good one!

Hey everyone, i ordered my scarf today.

Charlene,  i dont know if you got my comment on your page (also Kim and Kelly), and i hope you dont mind, but i got the scarf with the Ships wheel on it from LL Bean. You were the one that mentioned they were on there.  Its not a real bright one, but thought it  would be cute:)) So thank you fir the info.

Anyone still looking for one, check them out.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!

Pamela--glad you got more letters. I got another one too! Also, my 22nd wedding anniversary is on the 11th, same as your sons BD:))
