Hi Mom's

My son is scheduled  for PIR on 2/4/11 an assigned to ship 11 div 061. I could not find any groups for moms who's sons are assigned to ship 11 div 61. Sooo I am hoping we could get together here and compare notes from our sons.  I dont know much about this division, I have read from other moms that certain divisions mean certain things.  Well I hope to hear from you guys :)

Potsie,  you did not make me upset. I was just having a bad day to.... I was worried that Chris might have been one of the boys having trouble but I did recieve his letter today and he sounded upbeat. He said he feels really good and has been sleeping better than he ever has.   His letter started with Hey Mom I really dont know what to write to you. LOL...that is so typical of him. but I got a full page letter. He said that he was going to get the weekend off after PIR. so I was glad to hear that. He also said that they have time on Sunday between 7am and 1p.m. to due what they wanted. He asked if  I had wrote any letters to him cuz he has not recieved any from us but did recieve two from his cousins.  I screamed I have sent six...I hope he gets them soon cuz I dont want him to feel like we are not writting to him.    Hoping we get calls for Christmas. Thanks Girls for being here

Merry Christmas to all the Recruits in Division 061 and their families.  No phone call yet for me but I'm hopefully sometime today that the phone will ring and it will be his voice wishing me a Merry Chrismas.  :)  I hope we all get the same present today.  :)

KimB---Merry Christmas to you and your family as well.

No phone call here either, but its early yet. The best thing about life... there is always hope:)))

Your Christmas sign above is beautiful....very 'Christmasy'  lol

Merry Christmas Mom's I am sure you all are waiting by the phones, just like me. It is 7:35 p.m. in Massachusetts and no phone call. My co workeers son is in boot camp witht he army and they closed down for the holiday and sent all the recruits home for the holiday. I was just hoping for a phone call............I am still praying for one......I hope everyone had a jpyous holiday...
Hey! My boyfriend is on this ship and in this division and I think it is great we have this group. Has anyone gotten any letters or phone calls? It has been a month and still I have heard nothing. It is very frustrating since I thought I would have heard something by now. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas.
Good morning.  My son is in this division with your bf.  I received one letter but no phone calls.  Hang tight.  My son wrote about being so tired by the end of the day, that it's hard to sit and write a letter.  He also said that he wasn't sure if they would be able to call on Christmas (obviously they weren't able to).  I'm sure you will receive a letter soon.  Just remember that he mail was slow because of the Christmas holiday, so maybe you will get something tomorrow.  Be positive.  Just know that he is in a safe place and is being well taken care of.  I can't wait to see our SAILORS in only 39 days!!!

Hi sbchick01 and welcome to our group.

I recieved a letter on Wed Dec22, and it was written on the 19th several of my family members also recieved a letter some on the 23rd and some on the 24th. All of the letters were sent on the 19th. So I would imagine it depends on where you live and how good your postal work is...lol ...I hope you get your letter soon, it will come.....No call son Christmas  baaah humbug...My hands are sore from walking around with the cordless in my hands all day so I didnt miss the call...hahaha  I was very stresswed out about it yesterday went to sleep crying but feel a bit better today......

Hi sbchick--Welcome.

Nice to hear from someone else who also has a loved one in this ship/div. We all hope that our recruits have become friends. I have written my son about everyone in here asking him if they know one another, but i havent heard anything. I havent received any mail or calls from him yet. Hopefully this week.

I was at the grocery store the other day and saw a sailor (he was in uniform) and i approached him, asking what his job was and he told me he was a recruiter. I told him of my son being in Navy bootcamp, and asked how long it takes to get word from him. He said three weeks. So i dont know what the deal is with our division.

Im hoping for several letters at once. If not, i may just have to take a ride up there. lol

Just got a phone call from my recruit....Division 061 is at the NEX making their phone calls.  Keep the phones close by!

Kim---I just got one too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was right in the middle of posting a comment to angela and kelly, when my phone rang!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sounded DIFFERENT!!!!! but in a good way!!

But he told me that their officer told him that they have the worst division:(((

He said the officer told them they suck really bad!! Did your son say anything??

I told him i never got mail yet from him and he said he wrote me four letters. Also said he was on watch for 2 days and couldnt write, plus he had TWO root canals done.

OH, im so happy!!!

YIPPEE....I'm so excited for you to finally hear from him.  Especially since the four letters haven't arrived yet.  Watch all of them will be in the mail tomorrow.  Betcha any money.  :)

Oh ya, my son said the same thing.  Those guys that are causing all the trouble better get their crap together pretty soon.  My son said that their officer is actually a really cool guy when they don't mess up.

I'm still on cloud 9 and probably will be all night.  I'm so glad they got to call today.  I'm sure they had so many divisions calling yesterday that they probably ran out of time.  What a great Christmas present.

He also said they have a mandatory call in about a week.  Keep your phone close by...we get to talk to them again!  :)  Have a great night.
