My husband just left for boot camp last Monday, and his graduation date is July 19th,2013. I am new to all of this so is my husband I would like to know what should I expect when he is done graduating and A school and living situations. We also have a daughter that is 5 years old also. I have been told a ton of things when it comes to his A school. I have been told we can live on base with each other i have also been told that we cant and we can live off of base near him but most likely not see him at all really, and have also been told that if his in class schooling is over 14 weeks they move us out there i am so confused and i want to be there to support him though everything as much as i can. I also have two addresses for my husband to write him can any one tell me which one would be the right one.

Check out the groups, NUKE moms, Nuke Wives, Loved Ones in the Nuke Program!, Nuke's Moms/Wives/Girlfriends/Friends, Nuke School Charleston, and Nuke A School FAQ and join the ones that fit your needs and have the info for you. The Rating Information Card for the Nuclear Field can be found at https://www.cool.navy.mil/enlisted/rating_info_cards/nukepower.pdf. Yes, spouses of those in NF are able to be moved to the Charleston area for "A" School and Power School that follows. There will be more info in those groups about how that works and how/where the housing is.

As far as the address to write to your SR, use the one on the form letter. Recruiters sometimes give the wrong one. There is more on that in Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). I invite you to join that group while you are there and to check out the other Pages (found under the pictures of the members) as well, such as PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend, which will help you with planning for PIR weekend and When Will the Recruits be Paid? and Information for Spouses. You may also want to join Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors.

ok i did go and join those sites thank you any thing helps, so did i get the wrong info i was told that his A school is in chiciago i take it that it is not. just want to know what i can and cant do thank you for helping .

If he is Nuke then he goes to Goose Creek, which is near Charleston, SC to the Naval Weapons Station Charleston. The confusion is that surface (those who aren't Nukes or with subs) MM, EM, and ET stay at GL.

oh ok do you know a nuke ?? so if he is a mm nuke he will stay there then

Not personally anymore. I maintain info on the different ratings and "A" Schools in order to point people to groups where they can get the info and support they need so I have learned a thing or two along the way.

oh ok that will help me alot

I'm glad to help and look forward to seeing you within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).
