Hi, my son graduates Power School on Oct. 7.  Hope to get to know some others graduating in the same class.

that sounds like fun.  I'd think it would be farely easy to find a place on the beach since it isn't high season at that time.
Moms, I think our guys have a "widowmaker" test on Monday ... wishing everybody good luck!

Yes Connie.  My son said the widow maker is on Monday.  He said he wasn't too worried about it, it's mostly math.  Hmmmm, I hope his confidence is for a reason.  I don't know.  I'm nervous for him.  Definately hoping they all do well.

My son said that all of the classes are on mandatory quiet right now, and he says it's hell when that happens.  I'd think it would actually be kind of nice in some ways because it sounds like there are some in his class who just don't know when to shut their mouths.  That makes it difficult for everyone.  No place for class clowns in Nuke school.
I wasn't even aware that today was widow maker day until I saw it this morning on our Nuke Moms site.  My son has stopped telling me about tests and test scores because he said I "lectured" him when he failed that test a month or so ago.  I don't think I lectured, I just told him hopefully that showed him that he needs to put in more study time.  Luckily his slpo saw that too and put him on more mandatory hours.  I hope he does well on today's test.  For the first time in his life, I'm starting to worry about his grades.
Got a text from my son.  He did good..  I am so proud of him.  Now he has to get ready for the finals that will soon be starting.
Ah Aggie, I know how you feel.  I try not to lecture but it's hard not to.  So far he calls or messages me after every test.  I know it's very difficult for him and probably nothing I say or do will change how he does.  I just try to encourage and remind him how good it feels to do well, and that the first bonus check is just 2 months away, haha.  So hard not to be in control isn't it?
Kat, my husband and I were wondering just last night about the bonuses. I thought our guys only get the bonus, the whole bonus, if they finish prototype. My husband says no, they get $7 or $8k after finishing power school, phase 2. The rest comes after graduating prototype. What's your take on the situation?
I understand they get 1/3 of their bonus when they complete power school and the rest is at the end of prototype
That's what I heard, that if you receive any of the bonus money but don't finish prototype, you must pay it back. That's an incentive to work hard for the incentive!!

Hi all...I feel like such an out of touch mom!  I didn't know there was a big test on Monday and I haven't heard anything from my daughter about it today...she usually makes it a point to brag about her good test scores....uh oh....hope she is just too busy to call!  I know she wasnt't too happy about the mandatory quiet....she is probably one of the motor mouths!

I finally booked a place to stay...it wasn't too easy to find a place in our price range for these dates.  All the ones I like were booked!  But we got a place a couple of blocks from the beach so that will be good.  Now to decide whether to deop a hefty hunk on airfare or drive!

Don't feel out of touch...I had to ask my son about the test after reading on here it was going to happen.  I guess because he has a test every week, and they are all important he just calls and tells me his score after he takes it.

How do I put a picture on my profile?  I browse and find the pic i want but can't get past that point.
