Thought we might try this!  As I read through the posts on the main page and I am finding plenty of things to be praying for.  We are a big group, with lots of things going on in our lives, and we could all use a little prayer from time to time. (or like me - constantly!)  I also believe all of our loved ones really need our prayer support.

Feel free to post your prayer needs/prayer requests or maybe just leave a note that you are praying.

I have to keep reminding myself that God loves my son even more than I do (seems impossible), and that even though I can't be there with him in BC I know the Lord is with him, and all of our loved ones.

Blessings!

Navywife,

I am sorry that you have to go through this situation. This is a very tough situation in itself. I understand that you feel the need to tell him and I understand why you should not tell him. Only you know your husband. My suggestion is that maybe you should tell your husband that his father may not be there for the PIR, this way your husband is not shell shocked when he does not show. Like I said only you know your husband and you need to follow your heart. Good luck, I will say a prayer for you and your husband.
Please say an extra prayer for Ship 10, Division 333, we seem to be the only group arriving on or close to August 12 who have not received a letter nor a phone call. Very challenging for us moms in that group, but my heart goes out to their division as well, as there must be something setting them back. Even if it is just their RDC being a little less gracious with letter writing and phone calls which I hear can be the case. Thanks for the prayers ladies!
Praying for you and your entire division. And praying for your recruits as well. I don't know what is happening that is taking so long for communication to come. I agree, that maybe their RDC's are a little less gracious. (loved how you respectfully put that!). I also know that some recruits are allowed to call home a little sooner than others if they aren't doing very well or are really homesick. I am not saying that negatively, just stating information that I have heard from Mom's that mentioned their recruits called very soon and were struggling. that their RDC let them call hoping it would help. Here's the good news! Our recruits are strong and courageous and must be doing well. As they say - no news is good news!

Praying for some quick relief to our waiting!
Honnalora,

Thanks for saying that as I am having a very hard time with this and have had no call or letter. I have heard many times that "no news is good news" and I know that is very true. I keep telling myself that too and I know my son Mike is so strong and I am so PROUD of him. Hope I get a letter this week. I certainly am praying for everyone to get word from their SR soon.
NavyWife - I am praying for you and your husband. God will surely make a way where there is no way. It may look like his family is not supporting him now, but I pray that the Lord will soften their hearts and do a great work. Praying that your husband has great peace and understanding. I am so glad that he has a wonderful wife supporting him and cheering him on! You will both be stronger together, and in the Lord! Keep in mind the story of the three fold cord and how it is not easily broken. With you, your husband and Christ at the center - your marriage is like that three fold cord, find comfort in knowing their strength of the team that the three of you are.

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12
Honnalora, thatnk you for finding the perfect encouragement through Scripture for NavyWife! I think it did a lot to lift up others as well - well, me anyhow :-)
I think if everyone can just keep praying for the recruits and they're loved ones who haven't gotten any communication yet. Pray the recruits are healthy and doing well, and that thier loved ones stay strong & keep the faith.
Ship10mom, I am glad that the scripture was an encouragement. Praying according to your leading. Adding it to my prayer list now.
Love that photo and verse. I will commit it to memory and send a copy to my SR....Thank you soooo much.
Blessings to you all
Praying for you! I also read on our main page about your little one(dog). I am do sorry that it has been such a difficult day. It's gonna get better!
I thought I'd share a prayer my kids and I say at night before bed;

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray, Oh Lord our Sailors(and SR's) you keep.
Hold them all safely in your arms.
Ward off those who would do them harm.
Remind them Lord, they are never alone
And bring them soon, safely back to their home.
Give them all strength and courage,
Oh Lord, For the jobs they do are ever so hard.
Our Precious children, so strong and brave
I pray Oh Lord, their lives you will save.
Remember Oh Lord, they are ALL close to my heart.
Shorten the time that we are apart.
Amen

Since he has left, my kids have added another line:

God watch over Mom's path, Make it free of all things
When the mailman comes or the telephone rings.
GREAT PRAYER.....Your kids are a hoot....
