Hi everyone! :)

My boyfriend left for bootcamp on Monday and arrived yesterday evening around 11pm (his time). He sent me a text when he got to the airport to say he landed safely, then at 1am (my time) he called his mom and left a message to say he was at the base.

I have already started writing him and I heard to just wait until his letter to me arrives to get his address. I know I can go to his recruiter and ask for one, but from what I've read around here, it might not be accurate. However, I am now hearing that his parents will get his address? Is this true? If it is, I might ask his mom to text me once she gets it. But I don't want to bug her or risk the letters not getting to him. So I guess my question is if I should wait for him to send me a letter or to ask his parents for the address they get?

Also, am I allowed to send him a Valentines Day card? If not that, what about one of the little Valentines kid's pass around at school? I don't want to get him in trouble, so I might just draw him a picture or write mushy gushy quotes in fancy writing or something. But if it's allowed, I'd like to at least send him a cheesy Valentine. :)

Ink colors are another thing I'm debating about. Again, I don't want to him to be made fun of or anything, so should I just stay safe and use black or blue ink? I'm sorry if these are silly questions, I'm paranoid he'll get yelled at for something I send.

Any other advice on letters would be awesome! I know to send conservative pictures and anything to remind him of home. I am trying to gather up some corny puns so I can put one in every letter. (It's one of our "things", haha.)

Oh! His graduation is another thing...there is a small, small chance I will be able to attend, however my parents aren't too sure about it. If I am not able to go, is there any way I can watch it live online, get a DVD, or find pictures? I would love to somehow see him graduate even if I am not there.

Thank you!

Chaney

I just Facebooked his mom about the address. I also let her know about this site. :)

Does his address come with his form letter? And is it accurate? I read somewhere that during the first week of boot camp they move around a lot and that the letters sent to the generic address might not get to him.

I'm so excited I can send him a card! The Letter Writing link answered every question I had! Thank you so much for the information, this is already becoming a lot easier. :)

Ahh! Okay! I will be sure to pay attention to his address on every letter, just in case it changes. His mom told me she hasn't gotten the address yet, but she will let me know when she does.

Also, what is the best way to send letters? I have been writing a letter everyday and was planning on sending a week's worth of letters in one envelope once a week. Now I'm wondering if it would be better to write and send a letter everyday. His mom sent me his address today, (I'm stoked!) and I'm debating how to send the letters.

Okay! I will send these ones off and start sending one everyday this week. :) I am so excited to have his address now!

Thank you, this will help me a lot. Today I got the most beautiful valentine card from my son that he left with his sisters for me.
