Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Received my sons box today
My son left on Monday the 9th and I received his box just a few minutes ago. So far everything has happened exactly how this site has explained it. I can't believe how excited I am to receive the box even though it's just his clothes and cell phone. So excited for my baby boy. Can't wait to get the form letter! I am constantly thinking about him and wondering what it is he is doing right at that moment. Boy do I miss him!

The recruits can visit at the Navy Lodge during adopt a sailor. It is the sailors who are on the A school side of base who cannot visit the Lodge.

Salt Lake Mom, mine came FedEx. I know there's been a few on here where FedEx required a sig (mine did not) which delayed delivery. Hard to believe we're all so excited about receiving a box of dirty laundry but there it is :)
My son arrived 11/10 and the box was on my doorstep 11/13 (Tuesday-Friday). I live in Minnesota.

My son just graduated from basic last week, so spent the time near the base for 4 days. It was really hard at the beginning, so understand where you're all coming from. He wrote about once a week, so that was great getting his letters. Now that he has his phone, can call or text him. Even though he hasn't started A school yet, they keep him busy, so can ge a couple of days before he can reply. Hang in there, it does get easier.

I know the feeling pumpkin, my son left 11/12. I'm wondering is he okay and how he's doing mentally and physically. It's hard because he just graduated from high school and leaving home so far away :(....

I know I am trying to get the flights now. Your right I do feel more relieved now because I can put a date to seeing her, but I do still miss her and hope they are keeping warm when possible. Glad ours are together. Let me know which airport you decided on we are still not sure, going to call the info on the pamphlet to see if that is any better.

If letters were mailed out Monday hoping to get one from my son tomorrow or the next day. The first two weeks I was an emotional mess but after getting his first letter and first call I feel more at peace. Writing to him everyday helps a lot! #lovemyboy
