My son left on Monday the 9th and I received his box just a few minutes ago. So far everything has happened exactly how this site has explained it. I can't believe how excited I am to receive the box even though it's just his clothes and cell phone. So excited for my baby boy. Can't wait to get the form letter! I am constantly thinking about him and wondering what it is he is doing right at that moment. Boy do I miss him!

did he arrive at GL on 11/9 or 11/10? thanks

11/9

Fed Ex is supposed to re-deliver my box today because I wasn't home to sign yesterday, and now we are under a Blizzard Warning with multiple roads closed.  There is a conspiracy to keep this box from me :)

:(

And no box today.  I have a conference call scheduled and wasn't going to be able to answer the door, so I called FedEx.  I have the tag I can sign and leave, but I have four foot drifts blocking my door and I don't think there is a tape made that would hold in blizzard-force winds!

They worried me because they can look things up by last name, door tag number, tracking number, or address. I obviously don't have a tracking number, and none of the other three pulled up any packages to be delivered.  They had to send an inquiry, but they just called me back and said the route to my area had been cancelled and my package was at the FedEx offices.  I am good with waiting, but I was more concerned about missing another one and having it sent back!

So, hopefully tomorrow.

Also, my son's recruiter told me I could call today for his address.  I know not to send mail based on this, but I was more wondering if he had a permanent address, a PIR date, anything.  Honestly, just having an address that I won't use is better than not having anything at all.  And of course they are closed today, too.  Freaking weather is interfering in the limited relationship I can have with my kid, LOL!

kcbnme Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. Praying that you get it tomorrow. Are you in the North East with all that snow?

I am about 15 minutes east of Colorado Springs.  Just enough east to be considered the High Plains, and we were hammered!  Luckily it was a quick storm and the wind is still blowing like crazy, but it isn't snowing anymore.  My office, in downtown Colorado Springs, apparently just got a dusting but I couldn't have gone in to work if I had wanted to, so I just closed the whole office for the day :)

Wow! I haven't seen snow like that in years!

Holy crap!  Keep it there, please....

Btw, my son and I were visiting my daughter in Denver a few weeks ago and we went to Colo Springs/ Pike's Peak.  One topic of conversation was talking about all the other SRs he was going to soon meet.   Funny since we were in your area!

LOL!  That is funny!  Did you go to the top of Pikes Peak?  We have had snow up there for two or three weeks now, but that is actually pretty late for us.  I was really surprised at how hard we got hit since Denver and north really didn't get much.  My friends in Longmont were talking about how they were forecasting a lot and they didn't get anything.

And the good news...finally got the box!  Of course, it technically "arrived" Monday, but I missed the delivery, and yesterday was nobody's fault :)  Now I am just awaiting the letter.  I did get an email from his recruiter with his address, and obviously I am not going to use that to send mail, but at least for now he is in Ship 11, Div 058.

Yes, we took the railroad up to the top as the road was closed. With the wind chill, it was 9 degrees at the top, but it was close to 70 in Colorado Springs.  After Pikes Peak we had lunch in Manitou Springs and then went to Garden of the Gods before heading back to Denver.

I haven't received the address form letter yet.
