Hello All and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I hadn't seen a group formed yet for our ship, so I thought I would start one (Ship 02, Div 911 - USS Reuben James (PIR Feb 4, 2011)) so we all can be in touch! We have a special connection with band, choir, and drill team!  It will be great to share our experiences, stories and plans to meet up for PIR in Feb!  I'm a new Navy mom, and missing my daughter greatly right about now (as I am sure we all are missing our loved ones!), but am so very proud.  Let's chat!

Oh my goodness ... that was harder than I thought!  It was soooo good to hear my daughter's voice!  I conferenced in her brother to the call so she got 2 for the price of 1!  ;o)  She says it's been a rough go of it with this division so far, but no, it wasn't her who kept the division from being able to make their phone call home... phew! ;o)  She sounded good, said she received my first letter a few days ago but they aren't allowed to open them yet because of stuff going on in their ship right now.  She was so happy to hear that she will have quite a few letters to open and read as soon as their RDC lifts the restriction!  Sounds like they had their first inspection already, too.  She said no problem with hers (I did not have a doubt about that one!), but the run did her in (missed her time by just a little bit so didn't pass the first test on that)!  Apparently, their division is called "Triple Threat" due to their having three different types of performing groups in there.

Oh happy day ... we got our phone calls ... congrats everyone!!! ;o)

Haven't heard from Texas mom (Robyn) or Arpilan yet ... you two okay?  ;o)
Robyn did receive a call from her son too ;-) Not sure about Aprilan?
Yeah Robyn!!!  ;o)

Okay gals ... I'm back to the scarves.  I liked the red idea too, but I think another group has snatched up that color.  How about we go with white/cream-colored?  Another idea I just read on another post was to have all of us with the same PIR date wear the same color (yellow/gold?) and then attach an identifying stripe of color for the individual divisions.  I thought that was a pretty good idea as then there would be many more scarves of the same color for our Sailors to spot.  (Or we could always go back to Robyn's zebra theme ... you will just have to let us all in on where we can find those scarves! LOL!)  ;o)
