What a difference a day makes. My husband made reservations for PIR!!! Also I was working with a fourth grade class today, and we were editing sentences. The sentence read, "My brother is moving to Great Lakes for basic training in the Navy." He is not one of my normal students, so I had to ask him about it. He said his brother left Jan. 19th. I told him about my son, and he just grinned. I think this normally very shy child is now my new best friend. And I thought I was going to have a bad day.I also wrote his mom a note and told her about navyformoms.
That is so cool about your student ge. I hope my sr pased his run this week. He was worried about it in letter I got yesterday.

Can't wait for PIR pictures on face book.....hope we all get to see our kids!
I know I just read that the 914 division was helping with graduation today! I wish they would hurry up and post the pictures.!! Good luck everyone.

My son is in Ship 02 Div 914 can't wait to see pictures..................

Giftededucator I am so happy 4 u. It made me sad to think u might not be @ PIR. That is really neat about ur student.:)

Shadesofpurple I"ll be praying for ur son to pass the run. My son scored a 12.5 on his 1st one b/c he had cold chills/stuffy

nose & headache. U have to score a 12.3 on it. He told me that was ok though b/c it didnt count. Our boys are suppose to be in the gas chamber on 2/13

so we need to remember to lift them up. My son is allergic to everything so that concerns me. However, he said he hasn't had any allergies:). Can't wait to c the pics. thanks for the info.

I saw a lot of chatter on the facebook pages about Cptn. Cup and Marlin Spike. When will that be for our sons? My son seemed to be looking forward to Marlin Spike. For all the security measures we try to take on here, it seems odd that the US Navy Recruit Command site is so lax on it. Everyone seems to give names, etc.
How do you access this facebook page?

Captains Cup will be the Saturday before PIR.

MARLINSPIKE comes at the end of Week 3.

Here is a Discussion on MARLINSPIKE that is here in your Discussion Forum:
