I've read that the 900 division is the performing division?!? I'm guessing maybe my son is playing drums as that is what he did in high school but I'm not sure! Any one else have a recruit in this group? Anyone received a letter or call yet? I've only gotten 'the box', 'the I'm here call', and 'the form letter' which didn't have any small note written in it :( ! Would love to hear from others and keep in touch so we can share everything we hear about what our kids are going through!

What a neat thing for your daughter to do! Not sure if could have given it up though! Think I'd have to have been the last in line lol!

We heard from our daughter yesterday!! She needed some information  so I guess they gave her the phone call. She sounded wonderful. From the brief contact I was able to find out that she is really enjoying boot camp, it's not too hard, people are "nice", she is eating well, and they practice the performance stuff on Saturdays, I asked if the blister band aids were useful and she said yes and to keep sending them. (Band Aid sells them they are waterproof, made just for blisters, are a little cushiony and stay put). She sounded strong, happy, poised and so adult!!! She told me that they will should start receiving mail this weekend and will begin to send mail out as well.

ProudMominJerseyShip2Div930 - That is wonderful news to hear your daughter is adjusting well to BC. Our kids will be busy today then if Saturdays are their practice days.  I included some Band-aids in one of my letters earlier this week. Once I receive his first letter or the next call, it will make the remaining days easier.  Keep in touch!!

Awesome!!! It's a start and I'll take it from whomever I can get it from! I think we are sisters from here on out right? I didn't think to send blister band aids either...guess I need to go buy some any particular size?thanks for sharing your news!!!! Made my day!

Nick's Mom - Usually it is about 3 weeks before first call or letter.  Some get earlier and some later...no rhyme or reason. Sometimes if a division is doing great, they are rewarded with earlier calls.  Springhill Suites in Waukegan? $69/night? We have 2 Queen bed suite and its $119/night??  just wondering....prices are all over the place

KathyRC - 847-793-7500 Lincolnshire - 2 Q and a sofa bed.  The person who took my reservation was wonderful and enthusiastic when I asked for the graduation rate.

Yay!! We've made initial contact! That is super good news! I have been adding stamps/paper/and envelopes in his letters! No I need to add band aids! Any other suggestions on things they can have/need? I also told my son not to worry about running out of storage space because I am writing every letter he gets in a 'journal' so he doesn't have to keep them. I will give him the book at the end and it has pockets and such to add other third like his airline tickets or letters from others! If anyone else would like to see the book I'm doing I'd be happy to share it with you! I'm so excited we have made contact with our group! Do tiu think the hotels will fill up quick? I don't want to be too late to get a room! Where is everyone coming from, mode of travel, and how long ya gonna stay? We are flying outta Houston on Thursday the 7th and will come back late on sunday the 10th! Havent made hotel reservations yet still making up my min Can't wait to see my kiddo!!!
I have to say ladies we are still flying high on that phone call. I am sure you will all have a call/letter very soon. Many months ago when My daughter first signed up for the navy, I started reading all the different tips/ideas people wrote in to this website. The ones that stuck with me were those special blister bandaids, help them memorize all they can before they go, and always be positive in your letters. I am really looking forward to hearing how your kids are doing and I know you will be reporting back lots of great stuff in the coming weeks. I think we all raised good, strong kids and the coming weeks will reveal that more and more.

That is awesome you are still jazzed from her call - I can not wait until I hear my son's voice.  2012 has been an extreme roller coaster for me (emotionally), and reading everyone's posts has helped me stay focused on being the "grownup mom" when he does call and when I receive that first real letter.  He went in with the attitude that this is going to be as bad as football camp.  Nope - not me! Camp was only a week and a few hours away, plus he had his cell phone.  Almost three weeks and no communication has been tough! Have you all checked the RTC site on Facebook? I have "liked" it and there are some great photos of daily life and the ceremonies on it.  No photos (I think) of our division posted.  Hope your Sunday is wonderful!

I have 'liked' the fb page also but I dont think our ship/div is in any of them yet...I have seen that some of the other moms/wives/girlfriends have found there loved ones in the pics on that page with the same PIR as ours. This no communication has been very tough! Every time my phone rings I jump! If anyone would like to friend me on fb my name is melodie stahl. I like that I get instant notifications on fb so if any in our group hear from their kids it'll be easier for me to find! I do try to read through most of the posts on here, but I'm afraid I may have missed something lol! I love that one of us has got a phone call, gives me hope that the rest of us will soon! I think our group has the most replies in the threads started for this PIR!!! Keep talking, it's helping me keep my sanity, what's left of it anyway! Let's hope this is a good mail week!

i request to see our group. the reply was that that dont do that.:(

So, has anyone from our division received a letter yet?
