Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

IndyMom: I hope you get a call soon! It felt real good.
If the Division is doing well on teamwork, they should be allowed to make personal phone calls the end of this or next week as a reward. Some Divisions don't gel and never get personal calls until the "I'm a Sailor" call. I sure hope that doesn't happen to ours.
He said he sent a letter (past tense) so they must've been allowed to write yesterday morning as you suspect. I figure if the envelope went in the mail today, it will take about 5 days to arrive at this end. It will be very cool to see what he has to say!

Because I'm in Indy, i should get my on Wednesday, about 3 mail days. I'll be sure to post and let you know if anything comes on Wednesday. Have you been to facebook to view the pics from the RTC. Very hard to see the ones in back, and doubt we would say ours yet, but i keep looking. They just posted some from this past weeks PIR. I check every couple of days, see if anything new out there.

I hope you get your letter tomorrow! I do go to the RTC page on Facebook even though I'm not a member of Facebook. Luckily, they post to that page in such a way that non-members can see the pix too. Indy, our time will be soon, and it will be so very rewarding. This is a short period of time (8 weeks of boot camp) and the hard part, I fear, will come when our loved ones are sent to the far corners of the earth, are in danger and won't be home for holidays. At least we know we can come to N4M for support. There's a group for everything!

No letters yet but still sending letters to him. I did send a questionaire to him and enclosed a SASE. In my next letter, I'm sending him a calling card from Costco (700min.for $19.99) that was suggested. I can't wait till he also calls me. I miss him so much!

No letter yet here either, but am still sending letters too. I hear they get letters right before lights out, so that's a nice way to end the day for them. I know they're getting mail and that it helps them get through (so keep writing!) because I spoke briefly with my son - it was not a personal call so he couldn't chat. Someone from the same Training Group but different Division did receive a letter yesterday, so hoping they're on the way.

Hello from PA. My son is Ship 02, Div 933. Left on my birthday, not a happy one for me. Got the box and info packet almost 2 weeks ago. No letters or calls yet. Just need to know he's OK. Miss him so....

Welcome wildmom!!! Happy Belated Birthday! Sorry to hear it wasn't happy. Just think about what a wild adventure your son is having/going to have! This is hard, but they're almost half way done! I'm really, really looking forward to getting that "I'm a Sailor!" call and seeing him at PIR. Hang in there, wildmom. You raised a wonderful guy. You'll talk to him soon. Until then, keep on writing! Have you watched the videos on boot camp and PIR? Keep an eye on the RTC page on Facebook - you might see your son in a photo there. Let us know if you do. I'm in Tampa Bay, FL. What part of PA are you in? (you don't have to be specific)

Hi Moms! Happy belated B-Day Wildmom, and welcome.
Linaka- what questionare? When my SR left, i had sent him calling card, another mom gave me the tip when she came to his going away party. she's helped a lot, as she went thru this same time last year.
Capricorna- there are 4 of us now:) BTW- my favorite vacation spot is Anna Maria Island. My cuz actaully lives in Bradenton. We try to get there at least once a year.

you know how you click on our link for the PIR 7/1 groups, and there are a ton of group forums. just keep clicking next until you find the one that says QUESTIONARES. Someone added this link to the TG 7/1 group links. Same as the Mail Stalkers; PIR Hotels etc.. Let me know if you can't find it,
