For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Another hello from MN. Ship2 Div 906. No call from my sailor either. Although I do not think it was an accident there was no call. My thoughts...This is probably part of the formula to get the div to team up. There are only so many techniques allowed to get them busy working with each other. Withholding privileges is an effective one. When I went through basic training my first call after the initial one was the third week and I don't remember the next being until the week of graduation (after week 5 of 6). We may not hear from them except a Thanksgiving call or letters. No call is good news. They are persevering!! This time in boot camp is "basic training" for parents to get used to trusting all is well. Our sailors are learning their new normal and growing up in the process! We can also persevere!!

Hello from NC. My SR is also on ship 02 div 906. I too was disappointed that I did not receive a call this past Sunday. I did receive a personal letter on Saturday. I've made plans to see him for Thanksgiving so I'm very excited about that. I've read that div 905 performs at some of the graduations prior to theirs. Is that the same for div 906?

diannep, again thanks for the information re: pay etc. I have another question...I work in special education and a special ed preschool teacher I work with wants to send a 9 x 11 envelope with flags her class made using dot paints. Acceptable for my SR to get this or not? (I just don't want to call undue attention to him). thanks again!

No problem in sending it, but do give you recruit a heads up that it is coming. The RDCs have no problem with this type of thing.
He will most likely have to open it in front of an RDC. Since your recruit will know it's coming he can state what is in the "package" as he is opening it, and the additional "attention" won't make your recruit nervous.

My son's gf sent me a text saying she has two letters from him!!
Her dad works at the local post office. He sent her pictures of the envelopes. lol Can't wait to hear what he had to say. -

My daughter is in div 905- we received 4 letters today, my mom 1, and her boyfriend 3. what a great day! She called us Nov.1 for a few minutes- great to hear her voice. Hoping we all get lots of voice time on Thanksgiving. For all of you that are able to go, please enjoy. The rest of us, stay strong- we will see our new sailors soon.
We are Moms- we got this!
