Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 918

Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I'm here, I read all the posts because I get them in my email. I'm not really a "participator" in general. I do miss my son, but I'm not really struggling with him being gone because I just view this as a step for him to become the man he wants to be. I get a lot of support just reading everything I can here and gathering information so I know what will happen next. I hope that makes sense. All the times I've spoken to my son since he's been in boot camp I'm comforted by knowing he's making friends with your sons and that he's doing what he needs to do.

Hello all!  I spoke to DittersMom yesterday.  I am very excited to be here and look forward to getting to know everybody.

Welcome Mikey'sWife! You will find that this site is so helpful and a wonderful support. Their division is doing great!

Glad you are still here Naverry. I agree that just reading posts and gathering information is a tremendous help. Hope you have time to pop in and say Hi once in awhile!
Thanks, momoflp. My son did say he was making friends with quite a few guys and that after PIR would we mind if we went out to lunch withthemn and their families in a big group. It made me happy to know that he's still the same friendly kid that left home a few weeks ago. If any of your sons tell you the same thing, let me know. They're probably in the same little group!
That is really sweet :-). One of my questions on my last letter is who he is making friends with. I want names! I have to kinda laugh at myself that I'm still worried whether he's making friends or not.
I asked for names too! But funnily enough, he only had last names!
Hello ladies. I am working on letter writing with my second grade class. I was thinking it might be nice to have them write to the different SRs on ship 2. What do you think? Would your SR like a letter from one of my students? My husband will be getting some and I thought it would be nice to spread the love.
What a great idea! I teach middle school (6th grade) Language Arts and can do the same. Please private message me if you would like one sent to your SR. Mikey's wife, I will message you my son's name :-)

Good morning everyone,

Time is getting near to so our SR, I can't wait see him and everyone!!! Have a great Day!

Hi, I thought I saw someone from our group post that they received a phone call from their SR this past weekend. Did anyone else receive a phone call? I didn't get one. We are so close! Also, do any of you know if the gas chamber is this week or next week? Thanks!

Hi, I received a phone call from the husband on Saturday morning.  He said they were entering "Hell Week" but that they had been doing really well and have earned several more flags.  He was really positive about the division as a whole, but I get the feeling he is trying to sugarcoat things for my benefit. He mentioned the gas chamber was coming up.  I believe it is this week but I am not 100% sure he gave me a lot of information so quickly.

Hi all, I just posted this on the main page, but wanted to add it here too! Div. 918 is making phone calls! I'm so relieved because I didn't hear from my son last weekend when they earned a phone call, he had pink eye. He said he aced his last personal inspection, did well on the final PFA today and they have their final test tomorrow. Then Battle Stations! Still no official date. I guess the gas chamber went well, though one guy fainted and they had to call an ambulance but he ended up being okay. He again just emphasized what a great group this division is and how well they all get along with each other. That is so comforting to hear. Just ten more days to go! Also, he did say that they ended up not performing at last week's graduation but they will for sure this Friday. Hang in there moms, we are close!
