For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ship 02 USS Reuben James Division 923
Well I finally talked to my son last night. What joy! He called last Tuesday and I missed the called. I sat in the floor for over an hour holding my phone is disbelief and in tears. Needless to say I haven't moved without having it in my hand since that time. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow since he left and to hear his voice was WONDERFUL! He sounded great. He was up beat and happy. He said things were going great and he has made many friends. He said the training is fine for him and they do yell a lot but it wasn't too bad and he was handling things well.
We found out his PIR date was 4/19 and I am ready to make plans to come and see him. I have already scheduled to attend the meet and greet the night before and I am so excited to meet other navy families.
Is anyone else with a loved one in Ship02 USS Reuben James Div. 923? I would love to connect. Maybe we can meet during the ceremonies as well.
