For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

So the form letter FINALLY came today and now we know that our loved ones have a PIR date of 3/16. Anyone else out there? I need to start looking at hotels and plane tickets. I was trying to hold off until we had the actual date.

We are doing fine. Just made our hotel reservations. I send letters to him everyday, and am hoping to get another letter from my SR soon, maybe tomorrow or the next.

Happy Wednesday Div 89 family! Got another letter today. It was a fat little envelope with answered questionnaires and a one page personal letter. It's like Christmas! He passed his swim test (barely) but needs to cut 40 seconds off his run. Had some very funny comments and told the names or nicknames of some buddies. Said the jokes and comics really help them and they pass them around. Hope you all get your letters today too. Praying for you all and for your recruits. God Bless.

Got our first letter today. Very upbeat. He said food is great. He passed the PST again and was given a chance to change his contract--I wasn't aware that was possible. I'm so relieved now that I've heard from him. Three pages in very small print! Had a lot to say.

Heads up division 089! Got a phone call tonight for over a half hour. It was great to heat his voice. Now going to have a little "mom moment" requiring Kleenex. Wishing you all phone calls soon too my friends.

I have been hoping for a phone call today but instead I got 2 letters. He sounds very good and is very excited that he was selected to be the RPOC for the entire ship. He said he was disappointed because he wanted to be the RPOC of his division but then they told him he would be in charge of the ship. Some of the ladies had to educate me on exactly what that meant for him, but at any rate I am one proud mama!

Happy Valentine's Day, Navy family! I hope you all find yourselves being VERY thankful for your SRs and have received Valentine's wishes from your them. I received instructions from my SR to buy his girlfriend chocolates and flowers. It was SO outside my comfort zone, but I did it. I want extra mommy points this year on my Mother-of-the-Year nomination.

Awww. That was very sweet. The florist said I should write "I love you and miss you, but miss my mother more." on the card on the flowers. I was tempted, but refrained. :) We had another letter in the mail today. So funny how we are falling back a generation to actually appreciating handwritten notes. I haven't taken to stalking the mail man, but it is an interesting dynamic for a woman who is used to text messages, emails, and instant messaging.
