My son is in this division.  He shipped out of New Orleans on 7/10.  I finally received the form letter today!  Looking forward to meeting others who have loved ones in this division.

Hi butterblink, So good to hear from you!  Is your son in division 282?  I'm glad I have someone staying at Residence Inn.  It's also close to Sarge's meet and greet.  Don't be shy.  Feel free to ask any questions and definitely let us know when your hear from your son.

Yes my son is divising 282 and you son is as well? I am not shy just not very ope with my feelings but glad to get all of this great info and share pricing finds for the travel. It looks like the rental cars from Milwaukee are cheaper too so we will definately do that. Yes I booked the Residence Inn because of the hot breakfast buffet and the nice price on the 1 room suite and they have a shuttle which by everything I read that will be the best way to get to PIR without waiting in line to get on base with a rental car.

Nolanavymom we are staying at the Navy Lodge but we wanted to attended Sarge's meet and Greet so hopefully we will get to meet everyone there.

So glad you joined us!  Our little group is growing.  My son will be staying in Great Lakes.  QM is his job.  We are hoping for letters this week, as div 281 is receiving them.  Keep in touch and let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you for sharing your son's thoughts with us. Hope to get letter today or tomorrow.

Ramada Inn has their own.  Sarge's is in Waukegan (I believe).  I know it is near the Residence Inn where I am staying and he offers a free shuttle to the meet and greet.  If you go to the PIR 9/7 page, they have a link for the meet and greets. It is right below all of the members of the group.  Veteran moms don't always check these division pages, so you may want to post a comment on the PIR page.

Hoping to get my first letter soon!! I really thought we'd get them Wednesday.

Has anyone heard anything about the Quality Inn? I haven't found much about it on here. We booked rooms there and at the Ramada because we aren't sure which one we should stay at.

Hi Emily Nicole, I am not a veteran mom so I don't know anything about Quality Inn or Ramada Inn.  I do know that Ramada Inn offers their own meet and greet.  You may want to post this questions on PIR page, as vet moms don't always check these div pages. Have a nice day and hoping to get those letters today!

Got letter today. Happy mom. My son said he hasnt received any letters yet from us so hopefully he'll start getting them soon. Very short letter he didnt like all the shots and the standing in line but I guess he is doing okay.  Just glad to hear from him.

Laurie, so happy you got a letter we are in the same division so I hope there's one in my mailbox too!
Well its here, my first letter, its dated July 22nd and it is fantastic, he wrote about all kinds of things and it is a front and back of the page! It is a great letter, hes doing great and was funny in the letter. He also said he has a leadership position, he is a medical yeoman and seems very pleased with it. He hadnt gotten any of our letters yet but it was only 3 days including Sunday after we got the address so no surprise. My husband says he hasnt seen me smile like that since the day he left! I am sooooo happy, hope you all get your letters soon, its a wonderful feeling that I didnt think would move me that much! More cool than the olympics could ever be, LOVE THE NAVY and my SR!!!!!

So glad you got your letter now on to waiting for the phone or more letters. Hope they are able to call home soon. Still have phone attached to hip at all times.
