My son is in this division.  He shipped out of New Orleans on 7/10.  I finally received the form letter today!  Looking forward to meeting others who have loved ones in this division.

Hi Laurie, So glad you received your phone call.  Thanks for letting us know.  I am sitting here watching the Olympics praying that my phone will ring!

Pambrose, I got to speak to my SR last night too and he's in 282 and yes he said today is 3-1 for them too!

So happy so many of you received phone calls!  That must have been awesome!  I did not receive a phone call, but did receive another letter today.

I received my phone call!    I was so excited when I saw the area code.  He was SIQ yesterday from an infection from getting his wisdom teeth pulled. He sounded great!  What a relief!  Now, maybe I can loosen my grip on my phone. A letter and a phone call in the same day!  I'm one happy mama.

I got my 13 minute call today!! I nearly missed it, as I was at work, but luckily I heard my phone and they let me go on a break to answer it. It was so good to hear his voice!!! :D

Yay!  I'm so glad you received your call. I'm thinking everyone in our lil group has gotten their call by now.  It's nice getting that weekly letter too!  My SR said they are getting along nicely.  Only 5 more Fridays and we will be there!

Five more fridays...that's a good way of putting it! :) Much easier emotionally than saying five more weeks

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that. What happened? Is he ok? Are you?

Does anyone know when our SR might be making the second round of phone calls? Since letters and first phone call seems like all is frozen in place right now. Anyone from ship 03 div 282 going to any meet and greets in IL? We were thinking of going to Sarge's. We are staying at Navy Lodge also. Anyone else staying there? All seems very quiet right now, just wanted to say hello.

Yes I agree another Sunday gone. Hope we all hear from our SR's. We are arriving to IL on the 5th so we will see you there. I thought there would be a call inbetween and before the "I'm a Sailor" call. I probably misread it somewhere. Been reading a lot of posts. Hope 2nd half goes by faster than 1st half. Talk to you soon. Will post if anything new happens.

Laurie, I am not expecting a call until the "I'm a sailor" call.  There's always hope we might get one before then.  I feel better just knowing that it should be getting easier for them.  I know the first two weeks must have been brutal, but they survived!  His letters sound upbeat and the division is doing well!  I'm glad school will be back in session, it should make the next 4 weeks fly by.  Keep in touch!

My boyfriend's parents and I will probably be at Sarge's! We might be staying at the Ramada so we might go to that one but I'm not sure yet. We'll be wearing ribbons, too. :)
