My son is in this division.  He shipped out of New Orleans on 7/10.  I finally received the form letter today!  Looking forward to meeting others who have loved ones in this division.

Good EmilyNicole, so looking forward to it!

Hi Laurie and Jordans mom,

So glad you guys checked in!  It has seemed so quiet, but a very happy quiet!  So glad we received our phone calls, and hopefully we'll keep receiving those weekly letters.  We do plan on attending Sarge's meet and greet.  It is near the Residence Inn where we are staying.  I am so looking forward to meeting other moms.  I plan to purchase and wear those pretty ribbons with our division number so hopefully I will find other moms in our division.  (But quite frankly, there doesn't seem to be many of us on here.)   I'm back at school so I have not been on here quite so often.   Keep in touch and as always let us know when your receive a letter or phone call.

Hi Glad to hear from you nolanavymom, what ribbons are you talking about and where do we see them? I was also curious about the pictures of our SR. I wrote to my son about them. I read on N4M that they had to purchase them because there was no way for us to do that. Do you know anything about this? Maybe I misread the info.

Hi Laurie, I had told my son to purchase the pics before he left. I think they deduct the amount out of their check.  Lalatheribbonqueen (or something like that) is the nice lady who offers the ribbons.  I know she is always on the PIR 9/7 page.  When I find the info, I will let you know.  Time is getting close, so I guess we need to order soon.

Yippee!!

So glad to hear that.  I usually receive my letters on Friday.  I sent you a message.

Today is normally when we get letters hope the mailman brings something good. Doesnt come until 2 or 3pm. It is only 1230 right now. Waiting Waiting. Impatiently waiting, but waiting. Will let you know.

Okay got letter very happy now. Have so many questions for my son. He is starting to find out info about his A school which is nice but wont have any direct answers until later. Happy 4 weeks to go.

I received his letter today.  He's tired, but doing great!  He said they have a great RPOC (dude from Cali).  I guess it is time to start thinking about graduation gifts.  What are you guys thinking of?

No idea I thought you were going to give us some ideas :) I guess they have to be gifts they can take to their A schools. Mine just said he wants all his old stuff, phone; ipod; new toothbrush; etc.

I think we get to go shopping with them at the NEX.  Maybe I will just let him pick something out there.  I really don't want to give him something he doesn't want or need.  He mentioned needing a watch in his last letter. I rather him pick it out.    Every day that passes, I am more confident he might just make it!!  Have a great weekend!

Missing my son today. Just saw pictures of his best friends graduation from Marines. His mom sent me a bunch. They have been friends since before kindergarden. He looks so good and his family was there with him. Want to see my kid. Just saying. Very proud of his friend for his achievement.

Hi Laurie,

I know how you feel.  My son's best friend just signed with the Navy and I am just so proud. I think I am more excited than his mother.  I just requested my days off from work for the graduation and I know that it will be a weekend of a lifetime!
