Morning ladies. When I spoke with my son on Chistmas Eve he said that he was told if all goes well he would call again in two weeks which would make that next weekend, not this weekend. I was surprised that he would be able to call before the I'm A Sailor call. Did anyone hear this same information?

My daughter made a comment to that effect in her letter as well. :D

I hope our SR's are enjoying their holiday routine time and give them some rest in the middle of their hell week. I am excited to see how my son did on Thursday with the live fire where they can earn medals/ribbons for their uniforms. Everyone have a fun safe New Years Evening.

Hi Ladies,

Today it is snowing at training and our SR's have holiday routine. We are from sunny AZ so snow is a treat. Do you think they have an opporutnity since it is holiday routine to go out and enjoy the snow?

I hope so, Sophia loves the snow.  I am in Texas and it was so beautiful this weekend.  I am getting very excited because it will be just a few short weeks till I get to see her face.

LOL  That sounds so funny to a New Yorker!  I'm not sure my boy would want to go outside to "enjoy" the snow, but he does prefer colder weather to warm!

My son loves to snowboard. It only takes 2 hours from our house to get to snow. Most people outside of Arizona might not know that you can get to snow so quickly.

Trivia Tuesday today, noon Chicago time. Lets win a picture of divison 47 with our guys and girls, I need one of these for my scrapbook. Lets go gals!!!

Yay!  Just got a letter from my son!  A true answer to prayer today, as I was going nuts not hearing anything!!!  Very newsy letter written over several days.  Said Marline Spike was AWESOME!  Here's an excerpt that made me laugh:  "The Petty Officer in charge of our group was very cool.  I won't go into detail about why I thought he was cool because you wouldn't approve, but let's just say he let us have a lot of fun."

It was soooooooooo good to hear from him, and certainly made my day!  I just got off the phone with his Dad and read the letter to him.  Hopefully when he gets home tonight he'll have one too.  We share our letters, so a phone call later with more news would be GREAT!!!

Hope other Mom's have letters today too!!!  They sure help to get us through, don't they?!

I got a letter today. He did confirm that they had been on holiday routine from Friday-Monday(yesterday). He said the division was doing great on hell week up thru last Thursday, which was week 4 day 3.He was proud that due to joining during war time that they all get a National Defense Ribbon for their uniform.

Thanks for posting the update.  I haven't received many letters from my son so it's good to know what is happening in their division.

My hubby got his own letter today.  I thought it was sweet to do something special like that for him.  I usually open them and read them out loud and now he gets his own.
