Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 059 and 060.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I've been looking on hotelguides.com. It lists the hotels and ratings as well as whether they are pet-friendly...

Is it just me, or was anyone else disappointed that our SR's were not allowed to make phone calls yesterday?

It was Christmas after all.

Very sad mom.

Christy

It wasn't just you... I had my phone on me all day, it was very disappointing. :-(   So how are you doing?

My son is on ship 03/div 059.  Very disappointed that there was no Christmas phone call.  Can anyone tell me if this is due to Hell week and if so, when is Hell Week over for our recruits?

@MelMe251, I got a letter from my daughter dated the18th and it sounded like they were getting ready to go through hell week, so that could be why we didn't get to hear from them.... She also said there was a zone inspection that Friday that she was worried about them passing. If they didn't do well on it, maybe that's why they couldn't call. Hopefully we get calls soon...

The last letter from my daughter who is in Ship 03/Div 060 she said that is was very hard right now and that they had been getting in a lot of trouble...I guess that means yelled at etc. She said that she is really home sick but determined to make it. I was really sad that she did not get to call yesterday. I was hoping since it was Christmas that maybe they might get to call :( I guess I should not expect anything at this point. We are keeping a count down though but are on pins and needles. I didn't know about hell week. I know that one of the last things that they do is Battle Stations, which is 12 hours. Anyone in this ship/div please let me know if you hear anything at all. I have been getting letters pretty regularly, but just anxious I guess. This is normal, I keep telling myself.

Our son is also ship 3 div 060.  I do not know what the Battle Stations are.  Have you heard anything yet?  Also, I think "hell" week is over now. We got a letter from him today and he said he is ready for BT to be over but he is doing good.

There are two power points that tell all about battle stations on the main page under survival guide for navy for mom nubies. Go down about half way and there are a couple of links. There are two about battle stations. It is the last thing that they do, from what the power points said. It is very interesting. there are some other videos one touring the base (in another forum...I can't remember which one). Also on the newbie page there are new videos.

Thanks for the info.  I will look up those links.

Okay, looking at the day-by-day account, our SRs were on 4-2 day on Friday... So I think today would be either 4-3 or 4-4 day, depending on whether Mondaywas a training day for them. Either way, they are almost through Hell Week.

I was also disappointed no Xmas call.  We received a letter today from my son that was written on Sunday.  He said that they got the next two days off (Mon and Tue, I guess) but that they wouldn't get to make calls, but they could still write letters. He says that they were going to be doing their live fire training today (Wednesday), and he was excited for it.  They did SAMT training on Friday, and that is the laser tag type of training to get ready for live fire today.  They can listen to music now - the military's pandora station.  He also said he got pinkeye like a lot of people, and that almost everyone who has pinkeye also has glasses, but he got some extra sleep for it :)      He also thanked me for teaching him how to iron.  He was surprised that most didn't know how!  I can tell you that the son I knew really didn't use his ironing skills before he left for the navy!  He got to iron everyone elses shirts, underwear, and towels for the last inspection along with 6 other SR's.

Thought I would share some of the details of what 59 and 60 is doing, well based on my SR's letter of course.  I'm booking our hotel and securing our rental car on Friday.  Hope there are rooms left!  Have a good night!

Thanks for the info. My letters have been similar...good information and it is very nice to hear what they are doing. Keep posting. I really appreciate and like reading these posts.
