Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 157 - 158

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My fiancé is div 158 it's nice to see others with someone in the same divison and brother division!
So just wondering if anyone thought about gift for PIR? Not sure what to do. I saw some of the coins they have but not sure.. Was looking at the watches with the navy emblem but not sure of the quality....

Does anyone recognize the recruits in the pics RTC posted on their FB? They didn't caption the pics, so there's no telling whose kids those are. Lol. If you see your boy and are certain, then we know:).

Nope, unfortunately!
Just received our first letter today! Now have to wait for a call! He sounded good. He was on bed rest for wisdom teeth pulled. So glad to hear from him! He just got his first letters Friday..
Did anyone receive a call today and if so how did your SR sound?
We got a call today and our 1st letter yesterday. Surprised since we got a call last Sunday too. He sounded much better, seems to have settled in just like everyone had said. Still misses home but he said it was getting better. He's getting used to all the yelling too. He said the division is doing well so that was good to hear. Not sure how often they send letters but he had 4 days of letters in one envelope. He said he had received our letters too but it was hard to read them because it made him miss home more. Can't wait to see him...April24th can't come soon enough.

Me too! Same division. It was good to hear his voice. There was a lot of yelling in the room. lol. Our boys were probably hearing the same yelling. :). I'm happy for you. We are so fortunate! Two weeks in a row!

We received a call last night as well! So glad to here his voice! First call since "I'm here" he sounded real tired, said he wasn't sleeping much. He also asked not to write him in red ink, the lights are red so it is difficult to read! Never even thought of that! He also said there were people in his division that are doing Mass Communication. Anyone in this groups loved one doing that?

I got a call two weeks in a row as well, was very very surprised! pleasantly surprised. Even though it was very brief, his dad took up most of his time on his call. :(  but I will take short and sweet anytime over nothing. How many out there with SR's on ship 03, div 157?  What is Mass Communication?

Hi! Our son is division 158. He is going to e doing mass communication (MC). They do journalism, photography... I think of it as journalism. The A school is in Maryland. Fort Meade. Is your recruit doing that?
Hi I was just wondering if anyone knew what "week" our SR's are on, from what I've read the first week they are there doesn't count as week one, so would that make this week week 4?? Sorry if I didnt explain that very clearly haha
