Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 177 and 178

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Last week my son called; he said the whole group stopped for calls as part of their marching routine.  He spoke with me for several minutes.  About three times I heard as he asked others if they needed the phone.  My son didn't sound pressured to allow others phone time; he sounded like he was feeling a sort of kinship to those awaiting phone time.  Sigh, he's got new family already.  I knew the time would come, but I'm not ready to adopt him out.  Clearly, he is ready.

hi navy mom, just joined the group and noticed that your son is on same ship and same div. Very nice to talk to someone else. I kinda felt the same way with the phone calls, but he really sounded alittle like a different person already, Still my boy. Says he really enjoys being there

i have heard from him twice since he left, the second call he said was earned but it was a whole 45 seconds or so. but it was worth it

I'm not sure whether to smile or cry at your post proudmom, but I know how you feel.  Part of me knows that it is time for them to group and move on with their lives, but it is so hard to let that happen after you have been taking care of them and watching out for them for so many years.  I can tell you that so far with my oldest son who graduated Air Force basic on March 14....that group of kids are still communicating and have become really close.....and us mom are also really close.

What division if your son proud mom?

Keeping my fingers crossed for Sunday also!!!

We should tell our kids to tell the others to write home to their families about this page and our group.  I will tell mine in my next letter.

Received letter from our son.  Arrived yesterday in our mailbox but I just picked it up and read it today.   Handwritten on Naval Training Center stationery.  He spoke of regimented activities and having to await instructions for just about everything.  He assured me that he is doing well and that he passed his medical and swimming inspections.  He spelled out the names of his three RDCs.

You're so lucky. What day was it posted as?

I'm feeling so weary.. Everyone's gotten either a call or letter or something and here I am with none. :( I wouldn't know how it feels for mothers, it must be hard but I just want to say that I am happy for you all. I am a fiancé much rather a girlfriend I prefer, and it's hard when I'm the last person to know about my SR's whereabouts. I'm from Guam so everything takes longer to arrive, but it's just hard I guess. Staying strong though. Greetings to everyone who's SR is in Ship03, division 178. :)
