I think spring is just around the corner!  Now that we have our address, It will be good to write letters to our recruits.  I hurried to the Post Office to get one in the mail yesterday.  I hope they are doing well. Love and prayers going out to them.  We met a boy going to another division, wonder how he is doing?  Probably no way of getting a letter to him though-I know his name that is about it.  I was really shocked that so many young people were leaving and only three families showed up to see them off.

I left my son at the recruiters office in WPB and they kept him in Miami overnight with a group of guys; never any talk about parents seeing them off.  I guess im clueless about how it works.

Hi mchlesmom and garden.  Will you both be attending PIR?  Maybe we'll all get to meet.  Mchalesmom, is your son/daughter in 04, 807 too?  Just a note:   CHECK YOUR PRIVACY SETTINGS.  I went to google and typed in MamaSeal and my home page came up with everyones comments  If you go to settings under your in box, click there and on the next page go to PRIVACY settings.  Change to friends only.  Thanks. D
My privacy setting was already on friends only.  Not sure I'll be posting much on here!
We are planning on making the trip.  My father is in the hospital.  I have been so busy going back and forth. I witnessed a special miracle yesterday.  Not much time to have conversations on here.  I pray that our recruits are doing well.  Miss mine like crazy.  Hoping for a note in the mail soon.  I wonder if they are getting our mail yet.  I hate that our mail doesn't go out on Sundays and holidays.  This will really slow communications down. I wonder if they even have time to read all the junk we send them?

Hi, yes, I do plan on attending but haven't gotten my airline tickets yet.  I think my ex husband and my daughter will be going too.  No, my son has lived away from home for years!  He's late 20's!  I do feel bad for all the parents sending off kids who have never left home.  But I'm sure the Navy is very use to this and knows what they can and can not handle.  Hang in there!

D

MamaSeal - I agree - my son is almost 25 - I feel so bad for these moms sending their kids off for the first time.  And imagine being 18 and fresh from home to boot camp - yikes!  College football was bad enough!

My poor son - he was training for specops and really wanted to be in this group.  Didn't quite make the time on his run - off by seconds - so he is still under his original contract.  I wonder how long he will have to wait to try for specops again?  I don't suspect he will be able to change in basic.

Oh, that must have been soooo frustrating to be off by seconds!!  But now he'll be in for 4 years instead of 6 so maybe that's not so bad!
My momma always said "Where there's a will, there's a way!"  My father-in-law has always said, "Nothing is impossible, the difficult just takes a little longer!"  I hope he shoots for the stars and reattempts!  Running is a mind over matter thing.  Cross Country Team's Motto "Puke and Run!" and also "We Run This Town!"  Good luck.
I wonder where everyone is staying?  I looked online Saturday at the many different places to stay. Not sure of anything definite at the moment.  I am so glad that we are close enough to drive.  My husband hates city traffic.
Oh,maybe I'm breaking the rules.  Well, I think it's okay if we send the first names as emails vs. posting on this wall.  I'll delete my last comment in case :-)
Hi to everyone!  Really, really love this site, getting used to it slowly but surely!  My daughter's boyfriend is in ship 04 div 808  graduating April 8, 2011 and I am the appointed travel agent!  Does anyone know if the pre-buds group  and the Grad and Go group have time off to be with us during the weekend besides the hour or so after graduation.  I know his A school is in Great Lakes, but haven't seen any previous posts from pre-bud people as to the visits.  Trying to decide if I should stay Thursday through Sunday.  Can't wait until we get a letter or call from him!  Thanks!
