Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 007 and 008

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

bzmom06,I also got a letter from him today. In the letter he did say he was sick. My poor kid! :( I wish them all well and for these next 2 weeks to go by quickly. This mamma needs to see her baby. Lol:)

I got to talk to my son for about 45 minutes on Saturday. He also sounded tired. He has watch from midnight to 2:00 am every other day. He sounded good though. He said it's getting a little easier. He told me that he is getting really excited for A-School. I guess one of the guys he's become good friends with from Southern California is going to A-School with him. He will be going to A-School in Great Lakes as an IC. He sounded tired, but happy. That just made my heart glad. My son has been sick since he got there. He said he got another cold and that is what's wearing him down the most. He was excited about the fact that he got a sharp shooter ribbon to wear at PIR. He told me where he will be standing on PIR. On their way through the door he is going to be in the front row. He said he's the tallest one so I can't miss him.

He also said that they are all working really well together. He asked alot about home and he told me he can't wait for me to bring the hat I knit him. That the ones they provide are itchy and gross! lol. We are from a cold weather climate and he can't believe how everyone else thinks its so cold! He thinks it's perfect. They keep making him bundle up and he hates it. This is a kid who will only wear a coat when it hits single digits.

Only 16 more days guys! We can make it!!

Wow LIB, sounds like he's talking about my son. My SR is also staying in Great Lakes and we are from Southern California.:) Us in Cali don't know what cold weather is. Lol My son said they were going to go buy beanies.
Congrats to your SR on the Ribbon. Good JOB!
I talked to my daughter for about 45 minutes as well and she sounded great she said she passed all her inspections during hell week except the shooting one. She did say she had one more to do on Tuesday (yesterday). She told us that on the Navy's Birthday and for Columbus Day they had steak and lobster and all kinds of dessert which they normally don't get. So she said everyone got really full and then they went for a run. I said did everyone throw up? She said no one ever throws up because you get in trouble. She said division 008 is doing great!
Looking forward to 11/13 and giving her the biggest hug ever!
