Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 802
Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).
sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.
Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.
Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.
We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.
Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

For what it's worth, our SR says he's the youngest one in there and really looking forward to seeing family and pre BUD/S. Can you believe that it's only three weeks. The letter was short this week. Had to iron before watch. Would love to have a picture if that.

We finally received the form letter. Pretty sure our son had it all along and never mailed it, typical. We have our tickets and have started packing already! He said he has had a sore throat for two weeks and was considering going to the clinic or whatever it is called. Naturally I have been worrying ever since. Says the 802 has not
passed an inspection yet, but still seems in good spirits. -

We were told by his recruiter that 802 was going to be the hardest division of all, and likely harder than 803 & 804 so I'm not entirely surprised they've not passed an inspection :) Hopefully they get there though!

CiCi more than likely its just a few who are not passing inspections, but they are considered a team so they all get beat. I remember the first time I heard my son say they got beat and I was mortified, but he laughed and explained its just additional PT or some sort of mental punishment like saluting for 2 hours straight.
Believe me 803 and 804 are going through the same as 802. They will all join together as a class in PreBuds, which should be Class 305.

Hi Everyone,
I just joined this group today. My son is in this division too. I have received two phone calls, the initial one saying he had arrived and a second one a few weeks later. I received a letter, the only letter I have received to date, on the day of the second phone call. I also received an e-mail from him in regard to some important business he needed to deal with but there was no chit chat to go along with that. But no more letters. Typical. I confess I'm a little jealous that your sons write you. I hope that in the future he can call more regularly as I can't see his letter writing dramatically improving. My son sounded pretty crappy(sick) when he called but planned on doing nothing about it. He was in great spirits though and enjoying himself and his new buddies. He seemed sure he had made the right decision. I'm really happy for him. I'm proud that he has such drive and direction. What more could a mother ask for? I look forward to meeting all of you at PIR.

Welcome JJ. Sickness seems to be the norm for the guys going through BC. Most of them do push through without going to medical. They see it as a sign of weakness for themselves and worry about a delay in training if they go. Some of these respiratory problems they get can get worse and should be treated eventually. The are all such tough guys and I give them a lot of credit for doing what they do while sick.

Good to have another on board. Our son, too, has had nothing but positive comments. No doubt he is ready for the next phase, but it's great to hear he's motivated. We started working on his room this weekend. Definitely a bitter sweet time. We are dropping some letters off tomorrow and realized that by the time he gets them he will have less than two weeks left. Where did the time go? Hope to meet you in a couple of weeks.

I heard from my sons best friends mother. She was really concerned about all the drinking at college and her son loosing his scholarship. I am so grateful my son is dedicated and driven and doesn't have that temptation. There is always a bright side. This suffering now is temporary especially compared with a son who is partying his way through college.

Our son is in this division also, and still no form letter yet. I have received a nice letter from him and both our phone calls from him. When he left, he said we shouldn't come to his graduation, and I didn't think i would be able to get the unscheduled time off from work. I am now pretty sure I will be able to get it off. Do I need the form letter to get the pass for graduation?
