Welcome to the Division Discussion for Division 808 and 809

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division. Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina, cor and a couple more ladies will be joining this discussion to answer your questions about the "800" division.

Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Didn't even think about a home cooked meal... :(, I am so new to this stuff... staying at the courtyard marriott... wonder if great lakes lodge has any openings left?

From time to time, I have read posts stating sometimes sailors have to wait to begin their next step, that things were behind due to the gov't shutdown, they have to wait for a class to fill, etc....  Does anyone have an indication that this will happen to our group of sailors?

Also, my son's grandma keeps asking me when he'll be able to come home to visit.  I know not directly after PIR, but does anyone know when or if that might happen?   I am getting used to the idea that sometimes we're just not going to know when it's going to happen, just wondering if there is a "typical" routine here.

My son stated that after PIR on 3/14/14, he will stay in Great Lakes and go across the street. He said his division 04/808 will be starting later than he thought to combine with another division and he will be there until the end of May or the first of June, so this sounds like what you were talking about in your post.

Thank you Debby W.   This is very helpful.  I'm hoping we'll get one more letter or call.  Don't know when BStations is - NOT for sharing on any PUBLIC page. They've been asking on the Facebook page for our two 800+ groups, if anyone knows.  The others divisions are already set.

On the FB page, the request is:   PRIVATE MESSAGE Tina if you have the 808-809 date so she can finish her list of division dates and share them with others of us in this group via PM.  She also shared today:   9 days friends...9 days!!!

From Ship 03 in the 106, some news:    They are drilling/ testing and having inspections all the time...at least 2 major events every day!   Send Battlestations date for this division  Tina Bowman on Facebook via PM.  She says they will be up for 48 hours... after that- RECRUIT HEAVEN!!!! March 2- They have their final PFA on WED ( Today) and test 3 tomorrow( Thursday). They had to shovel snow for the first time on March 1...she said it was hilarious but didnt elaborate.

Whooo HOOOO!!!!  Just got my call from my FORMER SR in the 808.  He's a sailor now!  He's got his hat, is VERRRRYYYYY tired, and to his knowledge, all those in the 808-809 passed!  Some other groups were with him, in the 100s, but he doesn't remember which.

One sailor left early and immediately went to his early PIR, but other than him, all the 808-809 will be up tonight until 8 PM and then get some sorely wanted sleep.

Bless them all they are in the NAVY now, for REALZ!  HOOYAH!!  <3  ~  EyeoftheTiger

To confirm Eye of Tiger's comment, my son called from DIV 809.  When I asked if everyone passed, he said everyone that took the final test passed.

Celebrating Battle Stations completions with a preview of special moments of PIR this month, including highlights:

Just got word on the navy facebook page that during the Captain's cup that 809 beat 808. 808 won the pushups, situps and pull ups, but 809 won volley ball and fireman's carry. I know they had fun-finally. Now I heard they have access to phones and computers-called recruit Heaven, so you might get a call

Which Facebook page?  Thanks!

I am SO excited to start my travels tomorrow to the Chicago area.  PIR...the first step of many for our boys.  I hope to connect with other 800 div parents so we can go through this journey together.  Thank you to all of you who have shared information and support...we are going to continue to need each other in the future.  Congratulations to all and safe travels!  I just can't wait to give that boy of mine a big hug!  See you at the Meet and Greet!

Thank you so much to the admins who have done so much to answer questions.  It's been invaluable to this brand new Navy mom.  I've posted some photos from the PIR ceremony today including a panorama view.  We had a great weekend visit with our sailor!
