Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 003 and 004

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!

Thank you for Sharing Tiredmeow - My SR said the same thing that he has had his share of being yelled at too and the RDC is very interested in their future and that they are prepared.  Sounds like all of this Division is in the same boat (no pun intended) and the RDC is not playing favorites.   I think this maybe a quote from the RDC "They are learning to be the best of the best in the Greatest Navy in the World"

I can't wait to hear in the next letter or call how they are doing - it's the up and coming weeks that this Division will really see the benefits of the toughness and hard work over the last 3-4 weeks.  (still not sure with the push division what week they are in - I think moving into the 4th week)

I was relieved too - My SR is sure he made the right decision to enlist and made some very good friends.

From what I've read on this N4M site (and maybe elsewhere...I've been reading a lot of Navy stuff lately ;))
The RDC's are really strict the beginnng of bootcamp, and ease up a little towards then end. I gues thats assuming everyone in the div is "getting it".
Funny thing my son had said in his call, he thinks Boy Scouts has helped prepare him for a lot it. He's struggling most with shining his boots! :)
lol
We live in Illinois. About an hour away from RTC (30 miles away).
My son wants Chicago Deep dish pizza after PIR :)

TiredMeow,

Did you SR mention he had a few good friends?  My son has met two young men that he really hit if off with - one lives about 15 mins from Bootcamp and the other 15 mins from our house in Michigan.   I will message you his name.

He didn't say, but I'll ask him in my next letter. I'm hoping he's made some connections. Bootcamp has to be more managable when you have people to share the ups & downs!

My son wants the same thing! We visited Chicago this summer and went to Lou Malnati"s so that's what he has requested! He is staying for A school at GL so we should have time to do that on Saturday. One week closer!!

We love Lou Malnati's pizza. We are excited that they are opening up a new carry-out/delivery Lou Malnati's in our town! I love their salads too.
Also found out we can be have deep-dish pizza shipped to his "A" school via tastesofchicago.com
Portillo's Italian beef sandwiches & Chicago-style hot dogs are also a favorite.

Is your son staying for A school at GL also?

My son was originally suppose to go to A School in Pensacola but it may have changed to be G/L we won't know until they are closer to Graduation.

3 letters in today's mail, and he sounded good! He said that the division is really coming together! From what I remember from my older son going through a few years back, things do get less stressful for them after week 4.

Hi there Petrojax,

Thank you for sharing!  I received letters also and currently waiting for a phone call!

Div 004 calls should be today.  I think should be before noon - however they could be anytime today keep your phones close by!

I hope everyone hears from their SR's today!

HI all,

I just got off the phone with my SR.  Talked about twenty mins and he called back because he had more time to talk. The connections are much better today.   All the great advice on this site was helpful today I asked my SR to order the package A of the Pictures they take last week so we could have them at his graduation time (hopefully they will be in).  He also said they have the warmest coats money could buy as well as rain coats and jackets.  (I had to ask him about coats with all the viruses going around GL).  He was sick last week but now is on the mend.  No complaints has passed all his test thus far.

FOR THE GOOD NEWS ON DIVISION 004 - The Division as a team on the WTI Inspection had a really high score and only had a minus 2 points. I think that is a minus two - I know the percentage score was high.  Hooyah to the RDC's and the SR's Integrated - DIV 004.
