Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 025 and 026

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I forgot to add that the PAO said that an entire ship or a division might not get to call on the same day. I didn't understand that (about an entire division not getting to call) but didn't want to ask anything else because she did not sound like she was having a good day or have much patience. By the way got two letters today but no form letter (he arrived on the 6th).

Hi All,

Received a couple letters today. Sounds like they were all (06/26) given time to write on Sunday evening (11/18) and letters were mailed on Monday. Apparently there are a lot of really funny guys in the unit so there is a lot of laughter, which is fun to hear. Still no word on my sons knee diagnosis, but it sounds like they have him in some therapy for it so that is good. Hope you all receive letters soon. It's such a relief to gain some perspective on how things are going. My son is well and said the food is really good. On the Navy's Birthday last week they were served steak and lobster! His only complaint was he likes his steak rare. If that's all he's complaining about I'd say he's doing pretty darn good!

We got letters today as well, still no Form Letter,  but he said basically the same things others have written here.  Was so nice to hear from him, only 33 days til PIR :)

Good afternoon everyone. Just wanted to let y'all know that my son got there on October 6 and I just received the form letter today. The interesting part is that the letter was postmarked Oct 21. No call today though.

Travelgirl67 I am so glad you finally got the letter, our mail is running late so I am hoping ours will be there as well.  So with the form letter you were finally able to confirm his Ship 06 Div 025? Maybe we will get a call later today or tomorrow for Div 025 & 026... Praying.

Yes it did confirm what the recruiter told me about his ship/div. It looks like these letters may have sat around for a while before they were sent to the post office though with a postmark of the 21st. I had already received 2 personal letters between the phone call we got and today, so that is definitely his ship and division. Not trying to cause anxiety, but have you seen the posts from a couple of other parents of SRs who are graduating on Wednesday? It looks like they are being told they may fly out that same day as graduation. I really hope not, but it is better to know as soon as possible if that is the plan. I hope we hear something soon.

Flying out Wednesday is most likely/ probably not the case. There may be some who are bused out in the early morning hours to catch a Thursday flight, but again doubtful.

Things can change, but in the last several years that has NOT happened.

To me it doesn't make sense as generally holidays are down time and minimal manning so to have additional folks pulling duty the evening before thanksgiving to receive inbound students just seems questionable. However sometimes the government does things that doesn't make sense to the rest of us. So while I give it minimal possibility to be true, it can happen I guess. ...that is why I was asking to hopefully get that info from spreading too much.
Anyone from 6/25 get a phone call today? I saw where a mom from 6/26 got a short call.

No phone call. Got a letter on Friday that was postmarked the 19th.  Says it is tough, he is homesick and he is getting his wisdom teeth removed.  All stuff that is common.  Glad he is hanging in there though!  Would love to hear his voice.

No phone call yet, eagerly waiting and keeping my phone on me at all times and all places.  Hopefully soon.

It's good to find another mom in div 026? Are you on FB?
