Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 049 and 050

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Your son got to come home for Christmas?  I am confused...

Good evening.  Not sure I quite have the hang of navigating this particular site but I am trying.... my son is Div 50!  PIR date is 12/31.

They are having adopt a sailor. We can get our boys for Christmas, and one of their shipmates.

PIR -- where is everyone staying?  Or does anyone have a recommendation to stay at one place vs. another?

We are staying at Navy Lodge. We had booked Spring Hill Suites, but with being able to get them for Christmas we decided to switch to Navy Lodge, and stay the whole time. They have kitchens in the room, so it will save money on eating out. They also have holiday rates.
ok..thank you.
I wish we could see photos of our recruits while in training...even if they were group shots I would SO LOVE THAT!

I know. A group pic would be so nice. Seeing our bald boys. Just getting one call and one letter so far, really has me misses my son. Where in FL are you from? I live in Jacksonville.

Agreed! I love Jacksonville -- especially the river walk. We live north of Tampa

Have any of you that have loved ones in div 49 received the Adopt a sailor form for Christmas?  I still have not and I know there is a deadline to have it turned in.  My son is aware that I plan on going to Great Lakes for Christmas.

You are the third person I have seen from that division that hasn't gotten the letter. I would wait until you get your mail this week, and see if it comes in that. My sons came last week with his regular letters. He's in division 050.
There is another guy on one of the sites I am on that said his son is in 048, and they haven't received one either. He asked if you would call the PAO, and let him know. I guess he called today, and was told all sailors who wanted to send one out had a chance, and maybe his didn't want to.
