Hi Terri , welcome aboard ;):) I am so happy for you , that your son requested they send you a copy too - what a sweetheart !!! Looking forward to our discussions over the next several weeks about our boys/girls and their experiences !!!! Have a great day ....;):)

Terri,

It's great to meet you and you are not the Lone Ranger, my co-workers think I have lost it totally. But, we will all get through this together and have a great time in Chicago!!

Pam

Hello all!! My name is Pam and my son Chad is in this division and I did get the form letter with a quick note on the back yesterday!

Hope all is well!!

Hi Pam!! :) How are you holding up so far? It's soo exciting meeting people from my daughter's division! I got the form letter a couple days ago and it does seem to make it a little better but I miss her so! Just this morning I was telling my husband how I feel "lost" without her. Don't get me wrong, I'm not balling every day like I was when she left (that was horrible) but still I'm not used to her being gone and I sometimes wonder if I ever will? So many things changed since she's gone! Makes me think how funny life cann be in that it all starts by them needing you and it ends up by you needing them (at least that's how I feel). I can hardly wait to get a letter from her hopefully soon.

It's going to be soo cool to meet everyone in this group on PIR - can't wait :)

I feel the same way. I am just lost without Chad. He is the sweetest kid!! I really have not cried I am thinking something is wrong with me. But, when he left he was so excited about it and just sounded so ready that I was more proud and for some reason very unlike me I did not cry. When we got the form letter yesterday my six year old daughter was so excited that she started crying and she took the envelope to school today. Sweet. I hope we get a real letter soon. I mailed 3 today and will mail more tomorrow.

It is going to be so great to meet everyone I am excited. I have my room and flight all reserved now just finished that. I hope to goodness nothing changes!! January 6th is long enough I would hate to add more time on!!

Okay, I might cry today... no letter. I've got a headache that doesn't want to go away, not to mention the knot in my stomach that so far I'm learning how to live with... and no letter...

sigh............ :(

I got the form letter today .......:):) My son (Brett) also included a note - he said they had been on "hold" for 8 days and that basic was just starting on Tuesday.( I am assuming this last Tues. 15th) Also stated no real letters home until after the first week was over :(:(:( ....so for me that means maybe next Friday because it takes so long for the mail to reach the west coast !!!! I am hoping for a phone call on Thanksgiving though !! He said he had already made some good friends - ahhhhh .......that made me think of all you guys and your lovely guys and gals and that maybe some of our kids are becoming good friends ;):):) Cheers to Friday ladies .... have a wonderful weekend.

Kim

Well, okay then, at least that explains that... not happy about it but at least it means no letters til next week... ugh!

Oh Miriamj43 .... you are one lucky lady .....Christmas with you daughter ;):) thats is wonderful !!!!

Morning Ladies! My ex says he has a letter from Matt for me!! My Jessica came home and a letter from Matt and I signed the contracts on my home yesterday too!! I feel better...I still have bursts of intense emotion when I think of Matt and what he is doing - thinking of him building bonds with your sons and daughters warms my heart...Matt is a friendly, warm, kind person who enjoys having friends....and needs a strong role models too!! I bubble over with Joy when I imagine seeing him at graduation...I sent him two cards from Jess and I yesterday for Thanksgiving...gosh would be the best to hear his voice too...well off to work for a bit - I hope everyone of you has a nice day - Denise

Thanks Kim, I don't want to get my hopes up too hight but still keeping my fingers cross that indeed we can spend x-mas her. Still miss her dearly.

Well 20 days down .....seems like forever .... Thanksgiving approaching and I just want to say that I am very THANKFUL to have had the opportunity to raise such a wonderful young man and am SO very PROUD of him. We miss him terribly but am thankful he is doing something so honorable with his time. I look around and see many young people who are not willing to work or even put any effort out to find work ...... boy I feel blessed. Thank you LORD and GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!!
