AMEN MY SISTER AMEN!!!!!! Couldn't have put it better myself... well maybe the gender - LOL :)

Hey miriamj43.....have you found out any more on whether you might get to have your daughter home for the Christmas Holiday?? How you doing and how was your weekend??

Kim

No, other than the form letter I haven't heard from her. This weekend my husband and I went to Gurnee Mills which is a mall just a few minutes away from where they're stationed at Great Lakes. I couldn't help but wonder what was she doing since Sunday is their "rest" time. Often times you see many sailors in their uniforms at this particular mall since is soo close to the base. Girl, they look soo incredibly hansome with their spiffy uniforms, the way the walk, the way the carry themselves with such pride, dignity and grace. Gotta help but wonder how their going to be coming out it's going to be soo weird to see my daughter walking that way it's almost like I can't imagine it soo wierd (in a good way of course!) Oohh, I also bought a hoodie pretty spiffy myself uh?!? LOL!! VERY PROUD MOM - THAT'S ME :)

This is the most difficult thing most of us have ever been through. This morning on my way to work I was listening to the radio and this song came on that says where does my strength come from? It comes from the Lord. I will turn my eyes unto the one from where my strength comes. I felt God telling me to pray that for Chad and the rest of the division today. I know we as parents need to hold to that truth too. I was dissapointed with no letter too. But, let's look at logistics. They get to write on Sunday which was yesterday so, we can anxiously wait for a letter hopefully on Wed!! Yeah and I am believing they will let them call home on Thanksgiving.

We are all in this together. And I am so glad we have each other to keep us going!! Thank you so much for your posts!! YOu are amazing!!

Pam

I feel exactly the same and I feel so blessed with the words on the back of the form letter...his handwriting, his humor, his lightness about the additional week of bootcamp because of the late recruits - "go figure" Matt said...he told us not to worry and that he never realized how much he truly loved us till he left...made my heart sing and although I still find myself extremely emotional at times...I carry around the letter and just gaze at it to reassure myself...this is something so positive and we should all feel very proud...Thankful I am...

Thank you ladies! God has truly blessed me with beautiful women like yourselves and it's going to be such an honor meeting you guys I can hardly wait.

I carry her picture on my cell phone and I look at it every day (countless times a day) and just when I think I'm "okay" bam! There goes the waterworks. Honestly guys, I have no idea how i'm going to make it through thanksgiving without her. I know she wasn't supposed to be my "best friend" but somehow I feel like she is and I feel so lost without her. I miss her dearly and I know you guys are feeling the exact same way and in a way it gives me some comfort to know that I can "vent" and you guys know exactly where I'm coming from. Have a blessed day ladies and thanks for your kind words and encoragement. The moment I get ANY news I'll let you guys know.

Love,

miriam

Hi Navy MOMS ......how are you all doing this lovely monday evening ???  We are so lucky to have healthy and willing young men and woman who are giving it their all !!!  I agree with you all we need to keep our eyes on the one who gives us strength and keep HIM close each day. HE will give us what we need and HE will give our SR's what they need ........... It is so wonderful having this chatty group so we may all vent to each other and share are ups and downs. Yesterday was the day to finally tackle Brett's room , do his laundry (yes....its been sitting there since he left) and I managed without crying. I find I just do one day at a time and don't think too deeply about all of this. I made flight reservations for Chicago Jan. 4th ..... whoop whoop :):)

Hugs to you all , KIM

I love "chatty" groups ;0)

Hoping today is a better day than yesterday!

Talk to you ladies later :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

I hope all are doing well we are having a crazy day at work. I work for a CPA and we are trying to get payroll out for several companies before the holiday. I am working on payables so we can get paid. It is just a busy crazy cycle today!!

People are already camped out at our best buy which I think is really funny. I am being organized this year, all my shopping is taken care of for the most part. I will be sad when it comes to decorating for Christmas though, Chad is always my light hanger and wreath mover and the one who climbs in the attic and get the tree and ornaments down. But, it will be little brothers turn to step up and start doing those things. He has been such a help since Chad left I am so proud.

Well better get back to work. Have a great afternoon ladies!!

Pam

Well ladies, I FINALLY got a letter today from my daughter and though I don't want to say much I'm glad she's still hanging in there. Needless to say it's not a walk in the park and definately only the strong survive.  God knows I'm not a fan of "wishing your life away" but let's pray for our kids so that their time in there goes by fast, they graduate and go on with their lives.

God bless,

miriam

Wow Miriam - was that the very first contact ever or a separate letter? I have only gotten a note on the back of the form letter...I do pray for all our kids to stay strong and powerful...xo
