Hello. Wondering if there are any moms out there who have a daughter in this division. Graduation is 3-2-2012
I am hoping that today will be the day for a letter! We did receive a phone call on January 15th. It was a little longer than when they first arrived on the night of the 9th; however, Sarah was pretty down, and really sounded tore up. It was all I could do not to break down. We have written her several letters (my husband, my youngest daughter and me), so I am not sure if Sarah will have time to reply to all. Even a short note would make me happy. March 2nd cant get here fast enough! We reserved a room at Crossland Economy Studios. We wanted a small kitchenette, and a place where we could bring our Jack Russell, Sugar. I know that Sarah will be dying to see her! I hope you get a letter or a phone call soon! This waiting is so hard!
Hello Ladies..My daughter went through bootcamp and the end of last year and PIR'd on Dec 2. I have a friend of a friend who's son is in this division... I thought I'd poke my head in and see what ya'll are up to.
About the letters... don't worry they will come but what you may or may not know is that they probably just finished their processing and just starting to get going in the "real stuff at bootcamp"...in the beginning they may only be able to write on sundays during their free time...but during the free time they have many other things they need to get done. So if they can only write on sundays for a couple of weeks look for your letters between tues-friday, depending on your location.
Bootcamp is difficult...but you will come out of it stonger and better! It's hard not hearing from your kid but know that they are working hard and you will see how proud they will make you and graduation....It's the most wonderful thing ever. My daughter is 20 on sunday and in the last 20 years this was the most difficult and most joyous thing as parent.... Good Luck ladies, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your recruits... Welcome to the Navy family!
Finally got a letter! He is still my funny boy with the great sense of humor! It felt so good to hear from him. I love him so much!
We received letters from Sarah yesterday. So excited. She seems stressed out and misses us all. She hates that she had to have her hair cut, and she desperately wants her eyebrows waxed. I cracked up on that one. She already gave me a list of things to bring on gradation weekend, but is still scared that she wont graduate on time. She has trouble making the bed and folding. This is all new to her. She never made her bed her whole life. I just shut her bedroom door and quit looking! I cannot wait until March 2nd! Have a great day ladies! This site has been a Godsend to me. Thanks to all!
How is he doing?
Glad to hear that he is doing all right. Marching in 6 inches of snow cannot be fun. I know that Sarah said in her letter to my youngest daughter that she has blisters on her feet from marching. She also complained about shining her boots. She has said she has been going to church, which I find very pleasing. I hope that she finds some type of strength there. I am going to write to her again today. I have been sending her pictures with every letter. I took pictures of her bedroom just for fun and sent those to her. I have cleaned that room up soooo much. I don't think her room has ever been so clean! Did he make you a list yet of what to bring on graduation weekend?
No but I did ask him about that in the last letter I sent him. He said he wasn't sure yet what he wanted to do about his phone so I guess we will just see on that. He did say he has money in the bank and I know before he left he was saying he wanted to buy himself a new laptop so he may just decide to do that as soon as he is able to.
I am surprised we don't have more members in this discussion. Garret said there are 80 other people in his division. Where are all the family members?
I bought a laptop for Sarah last summer after graduation. I had some money put back for her college, so I was able to use that. Now, forgive me, is your son in the same division as Sarah, or the same ship? I am thinking he was in 079. Sorry, I talk to so many others out here, I get confused. Guess what? I received another letter on Saturday from Sarah. A four page letter. She is so scared that he wont graduate on time. She passed her swim test, but missed her PFA run test by one minute. She is scared, and trying not to be negative! I have to fire off a letter tonight to her. Have your son check out HP laptops. They are very nice, and make sure he gets the BEATS sound system. You can pick one up for like $600-they do deliver right to your door. I also bought the 2 year warranty. Take care
