My son left arrived on 7/26.  I got his address from his recruiter.  I noticed that no one else has posted and wondered if anyone is out there.

My son  arrived on the 26, but I did not get the form letter.  I thought it would come in the box I received on Monday by fed ex.  Exactly what is the form letter?

Yvie - The letter tells you what ship/ division they are in and what date graduation (PIR) is.  They can also write a few words at the bottom of the letter from my understanding.  I think we should get it any day now, yay!!!
got it on August 4.  He wrote, I'm fine, miss you and graduation date 9/23.  That was all.  I wrote back.
My daughter is definitely in this group!  I'm thanking God right now because I just got an actual phone call from her that lasted 22 minutes!  She was gathering security clearance info and after she got what she needed, they actually let her have a social call!  Thank you RTC!
that's awesome!!!

My daughter left the 26th also and I received the short phone call after midnight. I received the box but no form letter. Does it say what day graduation day is?

Graduation for this group will be September 23
Yippee - Got my form letter today to confirm my son is in this group.  He wrote a note which was upbeat so made me happy.  Salpetty - what a wonderful surprise to be able to talk to her or so long maybe their RTC (is that the term) is not too bad. :)

Oh..you mean RDC (Recruit Division Commander) :)  Right now the RDC's are gonna be pretty rough.  Once they're there for a couple weeks, the recruits know what's expected of them, they fall into a routine, and know what not to do to piss the RDC's off.  My daughter says the biggest problem right now (with the females anyway) is that everyone wants to be the leader...so it's a little chaotic at times and can be very annoying, especially in a barracks with 60 females or so all in one place.  They will soon realize that not everyone can be a leader, hence the reason for a chain of command.

The few lines in her letter were written when she was just about delirious from lack of sleep, but said she's feeling good :)  I'm so glad we can finally send them letters now!!!

Ha!! Ha!! Yes, I meant RDC.  I think I'm as tired as my SR.

For those of you on Facebook, make sure you "like" this page:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand

They randomly post pictures of various divisions in training and it's fun to try and see if your recruit is in the pictures.  Check it out, but don't ask them to take pictures of your division (they don't like that).

When you got the call from your daughter, was it a collect call or was she able to call you on your cell phone?  If it was a collect call, do you remember what the area code is?  Just wondering in case I miss a call. I'm going back to work next week and I'm worried I might miss her call if we have late meetings.
