Hey guys.  No, I won't be able to go to his graduation unfortunately. Traveling with a newborn and a toddler is going to be near impossible, and i'm having a c-section on top of it. (I'm a type 1 diabetic).  My mother in law and brother in law are going to tape if tor me. I wish there was some way to have them take Avery (our 2 year old) to the graduation so she could see daddy, but I have also heard they can get leave until 1-8-12.  I'm hoping this is true cause if so, they will drive him back to CO Springs, and then I can see him for a few days before he has to return to A School.  I am so proud of him.  He did talk about how the letters were his motivation.  I have a widget on my phone too, and have been putting the countdown on his letters.  45 days left ladies!! 45 days left! If anyone is on facebook, please feel free to add me there too.  https://www.facebook.com/CrystalCVT

All the love and support goes out to you guys.  Thank you for your support as well.

That is to bad you won't be able to travel. We all are hoping for our kids to take the holiday leave. where does your husband go to A school. My son goes back to GL. I don't have that countdown on my phone but there is one on the 12/29 group that i look at often. Hoping for a phone call this week or next. Next week will be the half way point. Hang in there do you know what you are having? The navy recruit training command is also on facebook good info and conversation. Have a good day

Michelle, although I won't be able to travel, I have family going to him to video everything that I am missing. One small sacrifice we both have to make.  I'm assuming he is staying in GL because he had a choice of Doctor, Dental Assistant, and Hull Tech (Weren't a ton of options) and he can't stand blood and human stuff, so he took working on ships and boats.  We are having a little girl and we are naming her Zoey Marie <3 I am also on the navy recruit training command as well.  It's good to have connections there. It is so nice to have you guys as support.

My son is staying in the GL for machinest Mate, working on the engines and stuff, when he went in he was leaning toward engineering they told him that is working with machines, That is not what Machanical engineering is so he was stuck when he wanted to change. Right now he is enlisted as a reserves. he still wants to go to college, he may enlist as active reservest for 6 months to get some $ for college. or sign up for 4 years, he has alot to figure out. I am a dental ass. can't support a family on that salary for sure. Such a pretty name we have a Zoey in our family it fits her well. I thank God for these sites, technology sure helps when your waiting for news. Stay healthy for yourself and those little girls. These are the best times enjoy them before you know it they are 18 and joining the Navy!!!....Michelle

Me to I watch those videos my husband thinks that I am joining the Navy to just wnat to be informed some of his day. hoping for another letter this week.

Same here. Youtube seems to help.  I've seen them all about a zillion times! I was able to call the redcross to get ahold of my husband (long story, but they had to stop my labor last night and there was an error with us NOT having tricare even though my husband is in basic as we speak).  Don't know if I can mention it, but word is Thursday for a call in the evening (from what a "little birdie" cough cough* told me). Fingers Crossed* And Angeltoe, Yes. He is the most amazing man with the biggest heart. I'm so lucky to have him. <3

Crystal hope you are feeling well today, I have been thinking about you this morning and hope you are hanging in there. Hope you have help with your little one.

Thank you Michelle. We're off to work this morning. My boss and I spoke and i'm cutting to half days. I'm just getting too exhausted with everything going on ya know?  How are you holding up?  I was gonna ask a little bit about you ladies.  What all do you do? Where are you from? I'm a veterinary technician here in Colorado Springs, and I love my job.  The fuzz butts keep me going daily with their tail wags and kisses.  This morning we are doing a dog or cat dental. Can't remember.  Both Sams family and mine are here in town local.  Sam worked in construction prior to going off to the military and will continue to work with his company (he's reserves) when he gets back.  Other than that, I love crafting, sewing, scrapbooking, and all sorts of nerdy Martha Stewart stuff.  It has been making the time go by. Lately i've been into making the paracord bracelets (see youtube if you don't know what they are).  Anyways, I gotta get the little one up and out the door to the sitter. 43 days ladies!! 43 days!!

Crystal T.

I am from South Jersey, about 10 min from Philadelphia, I was working at a preschool for 10 yrs, when they let us go, the private school is closing. now I am a stay at home mom for a while, the timing was good I got to spend a month with Kyle before he left it was very good for both of us. I have a 16 yr old son at home who plays alot of sports and he isn't driving yet (still on a permit) so I am his taxi. The household is quiet at times miss the activity all the time, feeling what empty nest is all about. Spend my days wishing them away for it gets me closer to 12/9. Just in case you ladies aren't familiar with the meet and greet. I signed up for Sarge's M@G  sounds like fun and I will get to put faces with names. Check it out on the forum would love to see you all.

Hello Ladies!

I'm a Missouri country girl, happily married with 3 terrific sons.  I work as an office manager for a construction company.  My middle son, age 19, signed up for 4 years with the Navy.  He will be going to A school in Pensacola, FL for aviation electronics.  I'm already planning a vacation down there - fun & sun on the beach with my Sailor!  My 14 year old wants to "check out the chicks".  He's a little mature for his age, all talk though.  I enjoy life and always look for the positive in everything.  Crystal, I hope your insider tip of a phone call is true.  I can't wait to hear my sons voice.  Take care of yourself.  I'm praying all goes well for your pregnancy.

It is great to hear from you all!  Joshmom, I had to call him through redcross on Monday cause I went into pre-term labor, and for some reason it wasn't showing we had insurance.  So this was directly from him (i'm assuming if they get in trouble it can get delayed, but i'm praying too).  My husband joined the navy for me.  I'm a type 1 diabetic and we can no longer afford 1500.00 a month for insurance and medical supplies. God bless him!  He also needed something to motivate him encourage him, and get him built up. He has had a horrible family life growing up, and he needs to be proud of something.  K. Emotions getting to me.  LOL. Darn hormones. They got my labor stopped, but if it happens again, i'm on bed rest. :(  again, feel free to add me on facebook if you guys are on there.

You are fortunate to have a husband like this, I know you guys are young and with a family it takes alot to support them. I admire his  determination to know that he needed this for  himself and his family, he will be a better father and husband because of this experience, Sounds like he knows what he doesn't want in life and family this will make him stronger in fulfilling his dreams. Having that title of a military person opens up many opportunities. I know my son needed this to clear his head and figure out his future, he wants to go to college but I don't think it would of worked right out of high school he needed some clarity that only the navy could give him he needed to see what being a adult is all about and I needed to learn to be a mother of a adult. Learning experience for both of us. I would love to meet your husband at graduation and shake his hand. Who know's maybe Kyle will know who he is.
