From what I understand, the Captains Cup always falls on the Saturday before graduation.  It may or may not come before Battlestations depending on when the divisions are scheduled for that exercise.

That does sound like fun.   At that point they will probably need it and love it being away from family so long.   Wish we could watch it though.   I do have a question,   my husband when he was in BC for the Army they video taped parts and put it on a tape and sold it.   Do they do that with Navy BC as well?

Yes, I saw it somewhere with the information for the Picture and the Keel book.  I think you buy the DVD's and video's seperately and you can order them when we are at graduation.

Not to brag but my son is AWESOME at volleyball!!!  Hopefully he gets in on that game.  I was reading  up on the Captain's Cup and it does sound like "field day" when we were in grade school. Sounds like a well deserved break and a day of fun.

Plane tickets booked and confirmed, hotel booked and confirmed, rental car booked and confirmed....now I patiently wait 21 days!!  Have a great day all!

AWESOME.....  where are you coming from??

Maine!!! There is absolutely NO easy way to get from here to there.  We have to fly out of Boston which is about a 2 hour ride south for us but worth every penny!! (Pennies are all I'm going to have left after this trip!  LOL)

I have to say when I look on the PIR 03/02/2012 forum the weather in Great Lakes has been almost identical to the weather here.  Tempurature and all.  I feel for the SR"s from the south, they must be FREEZING!!!

My son is a southern boy through and through, born and raised in Florida.   I am sure the temp really shocked him.   He has never seen snow until he went to GL.   Only in pics.   LOL.    I am sure he is getting his fill of it.   LOL:)

Have a great day ladies.

yup... YOU CANT GET THERE FROM HERE... hahhaah My SR was born in brunswick where i was stationed... my mom and her side of the fam are from biddeford/saco area... I am from California... (mom moved there when she married my dad).. We live in kentucky now, a 8.5 hr car ride north.....   YES they are freezing but have tons of clothes to wear.. my sr said that he hates to wear his scarf over his mouth .. its hairy. hahahha

I live in Scarborough, right next door to Biddeford/Saco. Sad BNAS is now closed huh?  It was a nice facility.  Today is the day I usually get a letter so I will have lots to post tomorrow I'm sure.  He might even mention the hairy scarf!

I just looked at the map... COOL... yea, i was sad about bnas,  wanted to go up there last summer for the "official" closing... even have a squadron reunion... but stupid hurricane was approaching..  YAY mail for you... yea, he did say they only mail out on sundays... as my sr was ending his 4th week and starting the 5th when they get to mail out more often... so you should be getting more mail soon!!!!

We take girlfriends also LOL,   glad to have you.   I think we are doing good now that we are on 21 days away from being on our way to see our SR's.  how are you doing?
