Thanks so much for sharing this, ColoradoMom.  This brought tears to my eyes.  Wow.  What a cool thing to post.

Looks like a nice Valentine's Day in Great Lakes today.  Not too cold.  It's Trivia Tuesday!!!  Let's do this!!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.....  sitting at my computer today for TRIVIA TUESDAY... we are all working hard for a pic of DIV075....  cold and drizzly here in kentucky....16 days to go!!!!!   AND if my SR breaks something again, im gonna beat him...

LMAO @ barbydahlzz....So far (fingers crossed) My SR Eric has not broken anything that I know of...he's not real good about telling me things.  He played football for two weeks in HS with a broken foot because he didn't want to tell anyone because then they wouldn't let him play.  Good grief!!!  HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

LMAO @ Kimmic.... my sr was in marching band  and had a fractured toe.. during camp..so he said  I AM NOT missing a season... so taped his toes daily..went to state championship..came in 2nd.. THEN stayed off his foot for 2 weeks..  DETERMINATION .... our SR's are determined to do this!!!! gotta love em..

Happy Valentine's Day Navy Family.......sending you oxoxox! Hope you all have a loved filled day. Going to the cupcake truck this am to get our dessert for dinner. Having my Mom over for an early dinner, eat around 5:30. My youngest has Boy Scouts tonight at 7 so that's my plan for today.

Love to you alll.........Lisa D

Chefongreen.... both of my boys are Eagle scouts... is your SR???

My SR was not an Eagle Scout. His 14 year old brother is working toward one. My SR was in JRROTC which was a varisty sport at his high school. Last April, his unit finished in the top 10 in the Nationals in Pensacola, FL. Why he didn't go into a performing group, I have no clue. He is going to San Antonio for Corpsman school.

awesome.... My sr played in the high school marching band since 7th grade, plays tuba, drums, bass guitar, guitar trombone and keyboard. and sings.. why didnt he go to a 900 div is beyond me too.. because i was told that musicians, singers ROTC, Eagle scouts go to that div.. but not all.. so for one reason or another, he didnt go..  tell your younger son, to keep up the awesome work he's doing.. push towards that Eagle..   My SR will be going to San Diego for STG (sonar) school...

My SR was never in scouting but he has been performing with his father's bluegrass band...in Europe and the USA as well as at the high school for the arts from which he graduated in 2008. He plays guitar (flat-pick, finger-pick, acoustic, electric) and sings.  And...he is going to SA for Corpsman school.  I asked him why he didn't consider the performing division...he wasn't interested...wanted to be a Corpsman.  I have no clue either.

Dang. OUTSTANDING

One of the things that has gotten me through so far is the recordings he has done.  I was listening to "Rocky Top", "Folsom Prison Blues", "The Last Thing On My Mind to name a few. It was great to hear his voice on the recordings!  His dad is really bummed because he is trying to replace not only a guitar player and singer but an emcee as well and is finding it not too easy to do.  The band did one last concert on December 7, the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor,  before my SR left and he invited his recruiters.  They loved it and were impressed.  When my SR ended the concert with "Where I'm Bound" with just his voice and guitar, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  I, of course, was a puddle. It was a surprise for me that he and his dad decided to do.  I listen to the recording of that a lot.

And he wants to be an HM....go figure...
