Hello all fellow shipmothers, girlfriends, best friends, aunties, grammas, sisters, etc...

Just wondering who is in the same ship and division as my son.  I live in Wisconsin and will be staying at the Navy Lodge for the PIR ceremony.

My son will be going to Groton after PIR.  I haven't gotten a phone call from him yet but am excited to hear from him.

Maybe he had time to write both of you :) They probably got a little time to write today too since it's a holiday!

hopefull!

None for me either; I'm a little worried that I won't get the call; I can't have my cell phone at work, so if he calls during the day, I might miss it.  Does anyone know if there is a typical time of day they call the first time?

My dad, who was in the Navy as well as my fiance now told me they usually call on Sundays. Depending of course, on if there Ship and Division are well behaved and get there stuff done. But of course our men are well behaved so we shouldn't have to worry! lol

That's great; I'll have access to my cell phone.  Thanks for responding!

My son is on Ship 09 div 076 also........have not received a phone call but I did receive the form letter....I cried and cried.....Well I hope we get a letter this week!

my son is in this division also; he will be going to pensacola after PIR; i havent received a call yet; just the form letter with all the info in it and a very short note on the back. maybe this week they will get to  call us..does anyone know what the weather is like  at the end of february? i know its still cold but are they still getting alot of snow at that time?

it could be sunny and the mid 50's or in the teens with howling wind....this is the Great Lakes area and it is VERY unpredictable. I have been in Chicago in March with a spring jacket one day and then having to bundle up the next day. And this year the weather in this band is so crazy...who knows!

has anyone made hotel reservations yet? are you going to wait until it gets closer to time?

I reserved at the Navy Lodge...the room I got was $66/night and included a kitchen! Pretty good deal!

They told us that we couldn't reserve for the dates I wanted for 2 weeks when I called :-/ But they told me $55 a night for the kitchen!

are you staying at the navy lodge? for 55.00?
