Hello all fellow shipmothers, girlfriends, best friends, aunties, grammas, sisters, etc...

Just wondering who is in the same ship and division as my son.  I live in Wisconsin and will be staying at the Navy Lodge for the PIR ceremony.

My son will be going to Groton after PIR.  I haven't gotten a phone call from him yet but am excited to hear from him.

I booked online for $66 for a kitchen $65 without at the Navy lodge (I reserved two rooms).

I haven't made either, hotel or flight. I guess I'm still on edge waiting to see if he actually graduates.  That hotel price others are getting is great at the Navy Lodge; I guess I'll book that and change if I have to.  The thing I'm worried about is flights.  If I book Southwest (if they even go into Chicago, not sure), I can change it relatively easy if I have to.  Not sure about the other airlines.

A question to the group, when are you planning on leaving for home?  Saturday or Sunday?  Some have indicated on this site that their SR will ship out to their school on Saturday, but when do you know that for sure?  So many questions....

I dont know for sure if my sr leaves saturday but it sounds like most of the sr's do..very few leave sunday. I read that the only reason they would leave sunday is if the sat flights are full. The ones that stay in Great Lakes will have leave all weekend.  So I am assuming my sr will leave Sat am - early.  but I did make my hotel reservation check out day to be sunday, just in case. I can cancel the extra day later if need be.

My maillady thinks I am stalking her.  I get home and just about stand there and wait for her to show up.  She knows what I'm waiting for so I'm sure she's keeping an eye out.  I live in a really small town, and I'm pretty sure if I get a letter she will call me!!  LOL

Lol my Mailman probably feels the same.  I hope we get one soon I am going crazy waiting.

Lets hope someone in our SR's division has been trained in mail yet....sheesh!

My son is also in ship 09 div 076 he will also be going to Groton after PIR .  We live in Texas and will be driving there.  I cant wait to see him.  I think we only get a few hours I am not sure I have not recieved a letter or call as of yet.

My son is also in Ship 09 Div 076 we have not received a call but did get the form letter. He said he actually missed us which has me a little concerned lol. Waiting eagerly for another letter or phone call!

welcome sbennett67! when did your son arrive at boot?

Is anyone else's Sailor staying at Great Lakes for A-school? Just wondering if anyone knew anything about the weekend liberty?

my son is going to Groton. I am gathering that the ones that are staying in Great Lakes get more liberty...friday, sat and sunday. You just have to have sr back to the base by 8 or 9 pm.

No letter Yet anyone else?  When do you think they will be calling us does anyone know?
