Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Their time is limited. There is no telling how often they are getting the privilege to write letters. It may depend on what kind of Sargent they have or like the recruiter told me "the mail there is extremely slow." Before he left for boot camp, I told him that I was going to mail an important document to my son to have once I received it. He told me to what until I see him at graduation to give it to him. That is how slow their mail is. Keep in mind also, that the weather plays a part in this too. There have been delays in receiving mail in my state due to the snow storms around the country.

Just got a call! He was supposed to have 15 min, but had to go after 9!!! But that's ok, it made my day. He said a few guys in his division were getting discharged for conduct issues. His job is laundry and maintenance stuff. He likes the PT and stations they have started doing. Says some guys still need to learn how to behave, but the rest are getting on them about it now. So seems to be coming together little by little! I wait every week to hopefully hear "hey dude"!!!!

My sons call was cut short too. I could hear the yelling start in the background. He did sound good though.
My son has a job too "Head" Petty Officer. Sounds impressive but he was quick to remind me that Head = Bathroom. He has had some practice there, so I am sure he will do fine. LOL

Lol, I couldn't understand some of what he was talking about but I know he earned some type of pin for his uniform...so can't wait til he writes and explains more. I have found out thru private messages that my son knows some of our fellow moms sons...so that is cool to know! And they like that we all are getting to know each other!

My Christmas came!!! I finally got my call today. He was in good spirits. Or at least trying to be. He says he is home sick. But doing fine. Got all his shots... in the butt. LOL! He asked if we got his letters. I told him not yet. He may have set them a while ago based off the tone of his voice. So the mail is extremely slow coming and going there :(
I am a Happy Mama today. It sames like they all are helping and lifting each other up while they are there. They have created a bond together.

That's GREAT! Now we can look forward to a blissful week from that one call.
Its good that he has a job. I have to find out what job my son has been assigned. Having a job certainly makes you responsible.
I am going to have to continue to pray for them. That they can persevere through this training period. Its not easy to be away from family. Especially since they are cutting some of them loose for behavioral problems.
Its ok to cry though (a little bit). Its a good day.
