Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 139 and 140

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi shamrock99 - My son called on Saturday, too.  He is in Div 139 and said they were on Day of Training: Week 1 Day 4.  He could have been off a day.  He also said something about not counting Sundays.  My son also told me that there hadn't been much PT yet.  He had one day of swimming and passed the swim test.

Hi Catmomma, yes got the swimming results, sounds like everyone did well in the swimming part. and yeah it could have been 1-4 i was just caught off guard by him calling. I expected at least another week or 2. But it made my day!!!

I am so happy for you!

Hi there. So I spoke with my son this morning and they are on 2-1 today.

Yes!  I just asked if there was a certain forum for our Ship/Div.  I'm new here so I'm not sure how to make it one of my favorites to visit...any help is appreciated.

Sherry

Welcome Sherry. Hope you are having a great day. :)

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Thank you, so for it's been a very busy one, I'm ready for a glass of wine and some rest!  I'm praying I get mail tomorrow!!!

Ok thank you!

I finally found this page!  My son went to BC 2/12.  He also called on Saturday.  He didn't sound thrilled and said he was bored.  He was on crutches from an injury last week during PT and hopefully got off of them Wednesday.  But then he was getting sick.  I got three letters on Wednesday because he missed the mail the last Sunday.  His first letter talked about him wanting to quit but the second letter said he was doing better and was figuring out the mental part.  Anyone else's kid having a hard time?  I really thought he would excel at this.  He was so ready to go!

Hi safari- Welcome. The reality is, boot camp is hard. It's meant to be. He will be tested, challenged, mentally beat down, physically exhausted. I know it's not a pretty picture, but that's boot camp. On the upside, it sounds like he's doing better. My son is doing ok- he is struggling with the floating part of the swim test. But he's trying. He was sick, too. It gets better.

The mental part is key. My son is a veteran and he says that all that yelling and stressful stuff he endured in boot camp saved his life in combat because he learned to listen to the details of the instructions being given even when he was stressed and exhausted. It is all good!
