Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 345-346.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the main wall to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi Proud Mom,  Thanks so much for the reply  and what a good idea to send a questionaire.  She may be too busy to write.  I have sent about 10 letters and cards and even notecards with stamps.  Hopefully we will get a letter soon, if not, we will see her at PIR:)  Hope your SR is doing well.

She is doing well.  I think she is doing better than me :) Will you be able to attend the graduation?  Did you get a letter today?

No letters or calls yet .....Grrrrrr....  I took you advice and sent Cinthia a questionnaire only 6 questions so no excuses for not replying by next Thursday.  It is very hard to be patience, but at least I know I will see her on the 26th:)

You will get a letter this week.  I am sure.  :)

Did everyone see the post on Facebook for Navy Recruit Command?  (Not to be confused with the Navy Cargo Handling Facebook photos) They post random pictures on there sometimes.  I haven't seen any from our group though :(

Another letter today but alas no phone call ? Sounds as though the division is SLOWLY coming together as a team and has earned a few more flags. None the less we are on the backside of bootcamp and will celebrate this month. My SR said that they got some kudos after the Marlinspike drill and for once felt proud because they where commended by the Petty officers and not their RDC,s any other news out there ?

Thanks for the update on our division.  How exciting for your SR!!  What is the Marlinspike drill and not sure about how they earn flags.

Sorry. Marlinspike is a day long drill teaching them how to secure a ship safely to a pier. It's pretty cool because they train on a full size mock up/ship. Division flags are earned by successfully passing certain inspections if you will . After they receive the flag they are allowed to march while proudly carrying them

Hi Italian Mom,

My SR is in 346 so I can update you from her letter last week.  I have not received a letter this week yet, but remember Monday was Columbus Day so it probably is delaying everything a day.  Last week she had said she passed her PT test.  She also had said she passed her swim (that was about 3 weeks ago).  She hasn't talked much about the divisions except to say that the RDC's are getting nicer and don't yell as much.

Not sure when your SR said he wasn't getting your letters, if it was in the beginning it can take 2-3 weeks for them to have gotten their first letter.

Everyone always says "No news is good news."  But I am answering every phone call that comes in including political ads (just in case) and running out to the mailbox every day.  If something was wrong I am sure you would have heard something.  Hope that helps.

Also keep in mind that they can only write on Sundays so one letter per week is the best you can expect  :(

ship 9 division 345 still looking for anyone with a loved one in that division? also may I ask where are you able to see pics of your SR?
