Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 417 and 418

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Also...just read on facebook that PIR date November 1st only gets 3 tickets to the graduation.  This is a problem...we heard 4 tickets and have airfare for all 4 of us.  Any suggestions or anyone not using all 3 of their tickets?

Sheri, only 3 will be allowed in the graduation. We were told SRs can't add other Srs family or friends to list, it's against their rules and could get them in trouble. Someone will have to stay at the hotel or possibly go to the chapel to see it steamed. As for calls, most of us get letters to morrow or Friday so we hope they tell us in those. In my last letter my son mentioned calling this Friday.

Hi, do you know any details about watching the graduation at the chapel? My stepson called today and said family members not on the list could watch across the street at the chapel. But that's all he said about it in his 1 1/2 minute phone call. We live about 25 minutes away from Great Lakes, so a lot of family would like to be there watching, and then see him afterwards if he has time to leave the base. ANY info anyone has would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!!

Sheri, we are travelling with 5. 2 are staying back at the hotel and watching pir streaming live from a room there, then we will all enjoy our srs liberty with him after.

Hi, this is my first time posting.  My son is with Ship 9, Div 418.  We've received a 30 min. phone call about 3 weeks ago, which put our minds at ease, and a letter this past week saying hell week wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. LOL. We can't wait to see him at graduation.  Glad I found this site.  I get more info this way.

Welcome cinder56. My son is in your sons brother div and he said the same thing about hell week!! 13 more days to go!! Woohoo.

Thanks.  I hope we get another letter this week.  I'd like to know when they go thru BS.  I saw a presentation on one of the other sites (can't remember which one now) and it looked so realistic. Can only imagine how its going to feel to them.  He'll be leaving for Pensacola for A school afterwards.

thought battle stations were this week coming up

That's what I thought.  Just curious if they are told ahead of time, or if they just spring it on them.  Keeping my phone close.

GD, my son said the same thing, but in the past others on this site have said that the chapel is not open for extras to watch the streaming. I am sure space is limited. Our hotel is streaming it live in a special room and also you can watch it live from any smartphone/computer that has wifi. Your sailor should have liberty most of the day after PIR to spend with friends and family as he wishes.
...also I wonder if your son is my son from div 417s rack mate? He said he is 25 min away from bc!!! We are from ny. Pm me if you want to exchange our srs names and see!!
Welcome Cinder... my son is in div 418. Said the same thing about hell week. No call yesterday or today. ..
