Cheryl, I also know your Josh will be okay, it is hard not to be there to comfort them like we are use to doing. I think for sure this is harder on us then them....I have been preoccupied this weekend with my 17 yr old daughters volleyball tournament that was both days this weekend, which was nice in a way to have my mind on something else. Until I would be asked by someone if I heard from Josh. We have not made our reservations yet but are going to be finalizing them this week. Hope we will get a letter this week.....chin up now, we will get through this.
Hi I am flying with AA they gave 240.00 RT from Houston to ohare I am staying in the Ramada inn because they gave me a night free. LOL I won't be in the room much so It will be okay I guess. I am flying alone cause my husband can't get off. I have to be there and my son had his wisdom teeth removed on March 13th my birthday. He said it was not bad but he had to have them cut out they were impacted. My son has wrote me 2 times because he said they have no time to really write. But they are short and to the point usually. but please add me My son is Melchor not many with that name there! LOL
any one in here get a letter yet?
I GOT one!!!! Yours has to be there Moe-if not today then VERY soon. Ben sounds great but tired (3 hours sleep/night I'd be pretty tired too). It sounds incredibly challenging, but very rewarding! He asked for Q-tips. Does anyone have an opinion on whether I should send my kid Q tips? I don't want him to have to clean toilets with them as punishment for getting Q tips in the mail... should I ... or shouldn't I?
Good luck- you'll get your letter from Tony!
yes i got 2 letters yesterday! Tony told me his bunk mate is a Corpsman--i wrote back and asked if his name was Ben--how crazy would that be? LOL
SO GLAD you got a letter!!!
That would be HILARIOUS! I'm jealous that you got 2! I think 1 of Ben's went to the gf. Joy! Joy! Joy! So good to hear from them!
yes tony said he sent his GF a 4 page letter and i was all HEY! Then i thought it was most likely 4 pages of "Love you---miss you--love you " etc LOL
tony sounds tired as well and ready to have BC over--rumor is the next batch of letters they sound a lot better--i look forward to that!
OK ladies, I GOT A LETTER!!! I was so excited to open it and then I did read it and started to cry... Josh is sounds good and says he's really doing fine, I think it must be just the fact that I now know he's ok!!! It was actually funny the second and third time I read it... he spelled some things like he was texing!!! LOL He actually said that he's made a few friends andn was going to church!! He is a section leader and likes that...He said that he feels young there that everyone is older like "22-30" WOW they're old!! haha I sure hope you ladies get a letter today!!! I makes a huge difference... I just feel better knowing something....Thank you also for the thoughts for the teeth thing...he didn't mention it at all soooo maybe he didn't have it done after all????? I did send him a letter yesterday asking if he did sooo we'll see...Thanks again...Does the name Doberstein ring any bells?? he said he's going to church w/ him??
Cheryl that is WONDERFUL! I am glad for you!
Can you tell me what day he had it post marked and where you live? I am hoping you are just closer to where he mailed it and i can hold out hope for tomorrow!
Cheryl I agree that is the Best thing that has happened today....I did not get a letter but with the day I had at work knowing you got a letter has made my day. But Moe, we have hope now....I said on my other comment that I was sure it would be soon. I live in Florida and am sure the mail will take longer..Cheryl lives in Nebraska and is closer to GL. I will be stalking the mailman tomorrow for sure!!!! GREAT NEWS proud of him for being section leader and my Josh is 19 so he also will feel young. Enjoy that letter and read it once again for me......
