No unfortunately. we live in Oregon, so we will need to fly. If it was only 12 hours, we would drive, we are road trip kinda people, lol. I think we are just going to pray hard no changes will need to be made in regards to his grad date, bite the bullet, and book a flight. We already reserved a room, (Motel 6, hey save money where we can) and a car, but those can be changed easy. It's the flight I am nervous about. I actually did get a letter. It was in my box from Saturday when we were camping. It was shorter than my daughter got, but still up beat. My son likes to pretend that his sister is annoying, but he would choose her over us any day:) Judy
That is great that you got a letter... I checked by PO Box today and still nothing, there is always tomorrow!!! Not sure where we are staying yet, thought about the Ramada because the meet & greet is there, but haven't heard good things about that hotel from other mothers on the site. There is a Navy Lodge Great Lakes and I also checked out a Residence Inn, if we are driving we can splurge a little more on the Hotel.

Just make sure you get the trip insurance for your flight, it is a little pricey but worth it, then if you have to change it won't be such a hassel. Well wish a letter for me!!!
We just booked the flight! Now we need to pray Cory stays focused and makes the 10/8 PIR, lol. I will be praying for a letter from your daughter, :)
That's great.... And I am sure Cory will be just fine. Waiting until 12:00 today to check the PO Box, I am like a freak when I get there, I just get so excited when I open the box, hopefully today will be the day, thanks for the prayers... Have you checked into Hotels yet??? I know for sure we are not staying at the Ramada, I just have to make a choice and soon.. Well time to get ready for work.. UGH!!!!
We are just staying at the Motel 6, not my first choice, but cutting costs where we can, and since we have to fly, we sleep cheap, lol. We don't get in to Chicago till around 9pm, so probably will miss all the meet and greets, :(
So far we have reservations at Motel 6 too, I am trying to convince my ex that we should try the Navy Lodge (it's a good thing we all get along as great as we do) but who knows I hope I get to meet you. Brenda
Hi Ladies!! Got a letter from my daughter Katlyn today (Div 332) and she said that she is sleeping with the girls from Div 331, since both Div's are co-ed, and they train together. So possible our girls/guys know each other. She said her bunkmate is really cool&funny and her name is Kati from Mass/FL...last name starts with N. I wont put her whole last name, but if your her mom you will know haha. Anyways sounds like their RDC's are really nice and funny and she likes them alot. Probably don't hear that much LOL. Hope you all get some news from them in the next couple days!!!

Tiffany
Just got my 1st call.... I am estatic.... It was only 5 minutes, but the best 5 minutes of my life!!!! She loves it, she is Div. 331 also Ohio Navy Mama, and she had so many nice things to say about the girls, she loves each and every one of them. I haven't gotten a letter yet, she said she has written about 10 of them, she forgot to put the PO Box on the envelope, so lord knows where they may end up. I have a lot of research to do tomorrow, thank god I have a few days off. Well just wanted to share my GREAT news with everyone...

Kim
Judy,
I'm so excited some new moms with sons and daughters in the same division as my son Ship 10 Div 331 they call him Crouching Tiger Hidden Mondragon it made me feel good that he seems to get along with everyone in his division. Moms please keep me updated on anything you think I should know about PIR I have been trying to print out a google map of where the PIR is held but I don't have an address I like to be prepared with maps, GPS you name it I hate getting lost and not knowing where I'm at. Brenda
Hello ladies... I think I narrowed it down to where we are staying, I think we are chosing Springhill Suites it is about 3 miles away from where graduation is, and they have a pool and the rooms seem very nice. I had been following some of the posts from other moms and they say that all there sailors want to do is hang at the hotel and shower and relax, so I figured we would splurge on a nicer hotel, considered the Ramada since it is less expensive but I haven't read nice things aboout the hotel. I just want my sailor tobe comfortable, not sure how much time we will spend with her, hope she is not grad-n-go. I can't believe I will see her in 31 days!!! I am so excited, time has gone by pretty quickly, hopefully September flies by.. Take care Navy Moms....

Kim
