Hi Ladies and Gents (too) !

Just moving this discussion over from the Leaving from Boot Camp in August Page since it makes more sense to have it hear now!

Please join so we can all stay together and support each other through this!  Has anyone in this group received a letter or phone call yet?

I'm still waiting on that letter. Being in Florida might be making the difference right now. but I'm trying to be patient-not doing a very good job :)

Our son's A school is in Florida. He said that everybody that has an A school outside of Great Lakes leaves town for Saturday instead of Sunday. Do any of you know if this true?
Hi, I just received my sons letter and he tells me hes grad and go. Hes going to Pensacola.
My son just joined this division on Aug 26th. He just spent a little over a month in RCU with a stress fracture. I spoke with him today and he gave me all the new info I needed. He also said he might be getting another phone call on Thurs. so hopefully you will all get to hear from your recruits this Thurs.
That is too bad about his injury. They don't usually do anything for stress fractures but wait for them to heal. That had to have been hard to do! When did he get to GL, had he already started in another division with a different PIR?
Yes, my son Chris was originally in Ship 11 Div 298. He was originally due to graduate on Sept 2, 2010, (which is in two days). I'm sure that is going to be a tuff day for him. He arrived in GL July 13th, he was in a push division, (his orig. div. wasn't a full 8 wks) He was injured after only being there for almost 3 weeks. He hated being in ship 6 (medical / RCU) He said a lot of people end up going home that are in there and a lot are depressed, just a lot of negativity there. When he first got there he too wanted to just come home. I wrote him almost daily while he was there. Lots of prayer and encouraging letters. I think BC is tuff enough for our recruits without having setbacks. I'm so glad he has stuck it out, and was able to recover. I pray all our recruit stay healthy and without injury. When I spoke with him today, (i got a phone call because they make him call to give me his new ship, div, & PIR date) he said he passed his first test and that they had another test today, so lets pray they all did well on it. He also said they'd get to call on Thurs. So hopefully you'll all get to hear from your recruits this Thurs.
Karen ~ So glad to hear your son recovered. I am so anxious to hear from my son. I have basically built myself up to try to be strong on the phone when he calls. I know in my heart that he needs me to be strong so - boy will it be tough - but I am going to do it. I figure if I spend all the time crying and not talking then that won't do either of us any good!!! I pray all the recruits are doing well and progressing !!
Well my son's girlfriend emailed me and let me know she got a letter today!! She doesn't live very far from us so I am praying today is the day!! Lucky her that she gets their mail early! I have to be in suspense now until almost 4:00!! But it does't matter. She said he seemed great and honestly that is all I want to know is that he is doing well!!! I will update you if I get anything!!! Hoping for letters for all of us!!
Finally!! Letters! I was so glad to hear from him! He did say they had been holding their mail but had a ton of it when he got it. Anyone here get a phone call yet? A division 332 mom got one today! I am praying for that phone call tomorrow now! I feel much better now that I heard from him!
Maribeth- Yay!!! I'm so happy for you! I'm in Florida, so hopefully Thursday is my day.If I'm really blessed, I will get a letter and a phone call! And what a relief that they finally have their mail! I'll be mailing letter #25 tomorrow! HaHa, he will never have read so much in his whole life :). Thanks for the update, hope that phone rings for you tomorrow!
Yes, thank you!! I know you will get mail tomorrow and hopefully our group earns the phone calls. Based on his letters they have to earn it as a group or do something individually by themselves to earn it. I will pray we all hear from them one way or another tomorrow!!
How long has this division been in BC? I'm surprised none of you have gotten letters before this. From what I know from my sons previous division, they were aloud to write on Sundays only, and yes they had to earn phone calls. I'm sure it depends on their RDC's too. My son said the RDC's were pretty cool in his last division. I had gotten two letters from my son before he was injured, and so had his girlfriend and his brother recieved one. And in RCU, I recieved phone calls weekly and some times a couple of times in one week. (one of the only possitives of him being there), also he could write any time he wanted when he was in RCU. Now I have to go back to him earning the phone calls again and writing only on Sundays. I hope we all get phone calls and letters this week. I also hope our recruits are coming together and learning to work as a team.
Karen-

My son arrived on August 12th, I think the others are pretty close to that day as well. From what I gather, they wrote on the 22nd, but letters were held, maybe for punishment fo not working together. I will be anxiously awaiting that letter tomorrow....need something and would really love that phone call!

It's good to know that when they are sick or injured that you get more updates from them. This must have been a long month for you and I bet you are glad that he back in the game!
