Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Still no real letter or call.....waiting and waiting......I'm flying into chicago on the 12th and leaving on the 14th.....haven't made the flight reservations yet because everybody says to wait a few weeks.....the refundable tickets are double the price.....

let me know how it goes on the flight deal my SR says he still not sure of Grad date so dont want to book yet either i am on the west coast so tickets are WAY expensive!! anybody know of the best way of going about finding the final final RTC date?

 

Heading to RTC for Xmas with my son to see my hubby for the Adopt a Sailor program. He wrote another recruits name, Corey, on the form so I guess we'll be sharing the day with him too :-)

I got my First real letter From my SR!!! sounds good says its tough but had a good Thanksgiving says he gets to make phone calls at Christmas time YEAH!! hope i get to hear from him sooner than that!

 

Still No letter yet! Congrats Freckle's dad on receiving your letter, I am Glad you SR is doing well.

It's so hard when you don't hear from them, I write to my SR every day.

I Know she is a tough cookie and she is ok, But it still makes it hard when I don't hear it from her.

I also held off on booking my flight, But did reserve the rooms At the Navy Lodge.

You also made my day by telling us they can call home at Christmas Thank-you for that!

Freckle's Dad:  That is great that you got a letter.....I'm on the east coast and I keep checking the mailbox....nothing yet....I just want to know that my SR is okay!!  I hope they call before Christmas too....

Got letters today from my husband!!! Hopefully we get calls soon :-) if you haven't received letters you should be getting them any day now. Can't wait for Xmas and Jan 13!!

Happy Day...I got a letter in the mailbox.....a five page letter!!!   Sounds like there are 87 recruits in Ship 11, Div. 37.....he is trying to earn a phone call home.....he is a little depressed because he misses everybody so much.....they got their first real uniform....he has been passing his tests......it was so great to get something from him.....I was so excited!!!

Has anybody gotten a call in this Ship and Division???

I got a call!!!  He sounds so good.....Anybody else get a call and what did their SR say????  Mine said they were on week 3:1....starting to do more fun stuff like weapons and firefighting.....passing tests...making friends.....chicago is cold.....quick showers.....learning a lot!!!

I got a call too!!!! My SR sounds Awesome he said he is sticking to who he is and is glad he is thru the first few weeks. He also said he earned a 5 minute call which he is gonna save for later, want's to talk to his little sister. Hope he calls soon she is quite excited to hear from him.

That is great!!.....I was expecting him to be sad and depressed but he was actually really good.....I had all these questions I wanted to ask and couldnt' think of one of them once I had him on the phone....just kept asking him if He was Good??.....Looking forward to getting mail today....last letter came on Thursday......So exciting getting that first call!!!
