My son is STG . Surface sonar.

Barbydahlzz-where will he go for "A" school? Does that mean he will be on a sub after "C" school?

We need a couple more parents to go to Chigago for Christmas so our kids can be adopted--wink wink. So far it's Kev & Proudmom :)

He's off to Point Loma San Diego for A school.. No, he won't be on a sub .. he will either be on a frigget or a destroyer for sea time.. he does have to go to some electronics school in great lakes before he goes to san diego .. i think it lasts 4 or 5 weeks..   Where is G going /??

I WISH i could go up for christmas..

I wish I could take them all in, I can cook a mean Turkey on the grill.

Kev,  That is so sweet.  It would be nice if you could do that.  We know you would really take good care of them.

I'm confused, I posted a msg saying I received a letter from my SR. Only problem is I can't find which group I posted it to. Oh well. I am so happy to hear from my SR. Sounds like he's getting adjusted OK. Says that the gear the Navy provided has been keeping him warm, and there's no snow on the ground yet. (Thanksgiving) I teased him a lot about going to GL in the middle of winter.

Can't wait till my next letter. I've been sending him something almost every day, from what's going on at home to dumb jokes . Can't wait to hear what he has to say about them. I'm excited for him, and that he's adjusting ok so far.

YaHoo, I love my mailman. I was so happy when I saw that first letter in my mailbox.

its ok ... you'll find it sometime... sooo glad he's adjusting... I send dumb jokes.. my SR and I are big on movie quotes ... so i'll write stuff... then randomly thro a line from a movie we've seen...he used to send me a txt with just a movie line... and I would just crack up....I miss that.  hahah I teased my sr about going to GL in the winter also.. he said I LOVE SNOW DUH...  i smiled and said...OK LOL.....

I love my mailman too... he's getting a HUGE christmas gift this year... hahahahh

Kev-thanks for offering. It would be great!

My SR is going to be ET or FC so he will stay in GL for "A" school-about 9 weeks. Could be longer with holds.

Got a letter today. He got my big package of letters on Friday & it made him tear up. He seemed sad though that he hasn't received mail from anyone else. He told me to feel free to write him letters for every day of the week.

I'm so confused as to what day they are. I thought yesterday would start 2-1 but his letter from Sun said Monday would be 1-3 because of the holiday. Do Sundays not count as days?

Just happy I got a letter :)

YAY    Letters are awesome... no sundays don't count just days of instruction..my SR wrote that they had their first real day on the 22nd   FRIDAY DIDN'T COUNT???? UGH that sucks..i thought TODAY would have been 2-1 day.. my SR is going to be an STG... but has to go thru electronics class first (ATT class)  the letters are addicting... kinda like chocolate... you never know what your gonna get...ahhahahah

Hello all :) I got another letter also, it was dated 11/21 and he said that they were on the last day of processing and that the next day was 1-1. He was excited because he finally gets to run. He is so athletic, waiting this long was so hard for him. He sounds so good :) He said that he is making lots of friends and that his RDCs aren't bad at all he actually likes them and they like him. He is having some epiphanies that I am thanking God for :) He made me laugh when he said that they have to make their bunks, tie their shoes and boots, iron, fold, walk, talk, drink, eat, shower, use the bathroom ALL in a specific way. (direct quote) All in all he is having a memorable time and is staying positive. Thanks be to God.
